One Night and Forever

Having Hope

Eddie wakes up and goes to reach for you. He grabs at empty sheets and realises you're not in the bed. He gets up, gets dressed and walks into the kitchen and sees you drinking a cup of tea

"Morning sleepy head" You say as you sip your tea.

He leans on the kitchen table on his elbows. He rests his face on his palms and stares at you

"You know that's the second time i've woken up without you in my arms" He says pointing a finger at you accusingly

"There won't be a third i promise you" you laugh at his accusation. However you want it to happen again. But you would never tell him that. Last night was the first peaceful nights sleep you've had in a really long time. His body warmth was comforting in a way

"Oh you're gonna stay with me until i wake up?" smiles broadly at you. His eyes sparkling at the thought of you waking up beside him in bed

"I meant i'm not sleeping in the same bed as you Munson. Last night was an exception" You try to stay firm. It's not that you were trying to be mean. You just didn't want to get hurt. You said it so you could also try to believe what you were saying

"And the other time?" he smirks at you. Knowing full well about the first night you spent together wasn't spent sleeping. He was hoping something might happen between the two of you but so far he feels like he's getting nowhere

"Don't know what you're talking about" you say shyly and going slightly red at the thought of what you and Eddie did on your first night of knowing each other

"Sureeee you don't sweetheart" he says with a hint of sarcasm

You both get some breakfast ready and sit down next to each other

"Okay do you have any family you need to tell? Like say you're alive maybe?" You have no idea how much family this boy has let alone if they know that he's alive. Maybe he should tell them that he's safe at least

"Just my uncle but i don't want to involve him" he mumbles as he shovels in the food as if he hasn't eaten in weeks. This boy was really wolfing down his scrambled eggs as if he wasn't going to eat again

"Well i'm gonna head to the supermarket did you want me to buy anything specific or what?" You had no idea what he ate or what he drinks. You wanted to make sure he was at least comfortable while he stays here and who knows how long that was going to be?

"A six pack would be great thank you" as he drinks his orange juice. He sounds grateful for having a full meal and drink

"Okay" You get up and grab your bag and keys.

You suddenly feel Eddie's hand on your wrist. You turn around so you're facing him you feel yet another jolt of electricity flood through your body. Eddie quickly retracts his touch and clears his throat looking at you with his puppy dog eyes

"What is it? Need something else?" You didn't want to sound out of breath. Seems only Eddie can make you this nervous and you didn't know what to make of it. All these old feelings bubbling up again after a whole year wasn't too much fun. Especially when you're practically living with the person who gives you these feelings

"Uh no. I just noticed that bandana in your hair" He runs his hand down the back of his hair as if he was nervous asking about the bandana

"What about it?" your heart starts to race. What if he wants it back? it was your favourite memory from that night. You could still feel the way he ran his fingers through your hair to put it in the bandana

"Did someone give it to you?" he knew it was his bandana he just wanted to hear you say it. He could still feel your hair in between his fingers as he pulled it in the bandana. A phantom feeling
