Down memory lane

You look yourself in the mirror, taking the time to truly breathe before it all goes down. For the first time in a really long time you actually recognize the reflection, maybe it's the suit, or maybe the fact that you know that if this goes right.. by the end of the day maybe you'll even get to see Loki again. But something is changed in the way you look, and it's definitely for the better.

There's a subtle knock on the door, you open it up, seeing Natasha standing with the same suit on, and her hair beautifully braided. How she found the time you didn't know.

"Are you ready?" She asks with a smile on her face.

"Yeah.. I'm gonna get him back" you say as you nod your head.

"We're gonna get them all back.. whatever it takes" Natasha assures you, grabbing onto your hand.

The two of you walk towards the group, waiting for you by the machine.

"Ten bucks says Steve holds an inspirational speech" you whisper to as you walk.

"I was gonna say twenty" she chuckles.

You all give each other a reassuring nod, before stepping up onto the platform.

"Alright guys.. I'm just gonna say a few words before we go.. take what you want from them" steve starts. You and Natasha can't help but chuckle a little. Everything truly is back to how it used to be. "Five years ago we lost.. all of us.. we lost friends, we lost family. We even lost parts of ourselves. Today we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the stones and get them back" steve says confidently.

You all reach in your fists, just to keep the spirit lifted. You are all in this together, if one losses you all do. There is no room for mistakes today, you cannot get distracted.

"We have one trip each okay.. no mistakes, no do overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know, but that doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful, look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives... and we're gonna win" steve adds, as he turns to look at you.

"Whatever it takes.." you say in sync with him.

"He's pretty good at that" rocket says.

"Alright guys.. I just wanna say. That you are my family so, come back okay don't wind up somewhere in the past.. I need you. All of you" you say softly looking around the circle.

Bruce starts the machine as he walks up beside Tony. You turn to look at Natasha who has a big smile glued to her lips.

"See ya in a minute" she smiles.

"See ya" you smile back.

Your masks close, as the machine wires up. You grab onto Steve and Tony's hand right before you shrink down, getting sucked through the portal. It felt so much worse than traveling with the bifrost, like all of your insides are being thrown around.

As soon as you open your eyes, you can hear the sound of the chitauri, and people screaming running from the crashes and fires. You're back.. back to where it all began. You tap your wrist as the suit disappears.

"All right.. we have our assignments. Two stones uptown, one stone down. Stay low and keep and eye on the clock" Steve explains when he gets interrupted by 2012 hulk smashing a car onto a Chitauri. Before jumping up an down on it, while roaring like a maniac. "Maybe smash some things along the way" Steve jokes.. "Banner you go downtown. Scott, Tony and y/n we go to the tower to retrieve the Sceptor, and the tesseract" Steve finishes off.

Tony suited up taking to the skies to get you a head start, while you Steve and Scott made your way by foot. It was easy fitting in, surely people would be way to freaked out to even realize you're here. Luckily for you, the tower had been your home for many years, you knew it inside and out. So you quickly made your way through the back door. Going up to the main floor where the 2012 versions of you would arrest Loki in just a few minutes. You got in position along with Scott and Tony, as Steve waited by the sixth floor, getting ready to grab the Sceptor from Romlow.
