i was taking a run in a morning, it was about 4am and raining. It felt truly amazing, the water on my skin, the music in my ears.

as i was humming back the lyrics of the song "Lost on you" i looked up from my shoes, which were soaked form all the puddles.

Maeve Flores

Its not an everyday thing to see someone on top of a bridge.

"Hey if you fall, youll die, sweatheart."

i managed to say while taking off my headphones.

"thats the whole point, you idiot." she spat back.

"let me help you"

i said while offering my hand for her to step away from the deadly edge.

"no, go away, De Angelis" she shouted quietly.

"you know i wont."

i got worried, though i knew she wont jump while im still here. i didnt know what to do so i took her hand and held it tight while i got on top of the edge too.

"get down, 'if you fall youll die'." she mocked me playfully.

"nice inpressions now impress me and get down shall we?"

"okay whatever." she shot me a cold look.

"im victoria, yes de angelis, but please i have a name sweety, and youll be?"

"dont act like you dont know me im the school's biggest freak and an emo kid, maeve?"

"i mean i do know you it was a polite gesture." i rolled my eyes at her.

" it would be a polite gesture to let me jump off."

"okay, in that case im a total bitch." I said while smiling into her her eyes.

"can you cut the crap. no one likes me, they would be relieved to see me in a casket"

"yeah in a hello kitty one, no no no in a glass one with led lights."

"Angelis, why?"

"why my last name is Angelis? Dude i wish i knew."

"Hah i can't believe you just laughed me out of suicide." her eyes looked at mine warmly.

Yes, i did. I felt euphoric by the fact that she won't kick the bucket today.

"okay im always happy to help though my first name is not Angelis, is it?"

"yeah im sorry, Victoria."

" jesus you- just call me vicky?"

"vicky? why vicky?" she put on a confusing face.

"because i said so honey."

"hey! stop im not interested in you." meave said.

"and who said i was.?" i shot back without changing my tone.

"i- you called me-" she didnt even get to finish.

"Honey. Yeah last time i checked nicknames aren't sign of love, is it?"

"well no but."

"no but's im soaking wet. lets go under a roof or something?" i pointed out the rain, which got way stronger then before.

thats when i took her hand and dragged her off the bridge, i walked around the streets were empty, i love how shes so quiet, she never said anything until i started talking.

"an introvert huh?" i ask.

"only now guessed? dumbass."

"woah easy princess, if youre not careful you're gonna slip, the cement is somewhat slippery." i caught her hand as she was about to fall.

that was where i looked at her eyes, deeper then the arctic ocean, prettier then the mountains of paradise. They were my gates of heaven, a suffered pleasure i can't understand.

"i- uh- sorry ill be more careful next time."

i carefully put her back in her original position and held her hand as we ran tru the streets of our neighbourhood.

"look i found a place." i pointed to my favourite place ever. the abandoned house down the street. no ones property and no ones land. i call it 505.

"lets go."  i say while still being deep in my thoughts.

"this is 505, and i swear if you tell someone about this place... well idk what will happen, just please don't?"

"wait, five zero five? why?"meave asked silly little questions.

"well before, my best friend atlas died, we used to hang around here, his favourite number was 5 and mine was 0, after all we both named it 505 since it sounded right." i explained.

"oh im sorry Vic.."

"Vic.?"

"Holy shit, sorry it slipped out." she exaggerated.

"shh.. princess.. it's not like you killed someone, calm down plus i kinda like the nickname, meave." i followed with a smirk.

"uh victoria you are a huge flirt how come you still dont have a significant other?"

"well maybe i haven't found the right person at the time?"

"person?" she looked at me in confusion.

"well yeah im bisexual." i look back.

"oh yeah cool, im. well im" she stutters.

"unlabelled. i understand confusion is real. dont worry about it" i comfort her.

"thank you"

i really dont know why or what but she is a girl i met nearly 10 minutes ago, seems like i know her for ages.

"meave." i ask in a bit lower voice.

"yes vicky.?"

"why were you trying to, well you know..?"

"i don't know, my best friend elvis died, and my mom dumped my dad, then most of my friends left cuz i became less social, kinda hard to explain."

i saw fear and sadness in her eyes, they started to fill with unwelcomed water.

"im sorry i shouldn't have vented to you, i uhm ill just go home the rain kinda stopped." she said while inhaling air every second.

"shh.. it's okay i understand its hard, but hurting yourself is not the way. i promise it will get better"

she hugged me tightly for a long time, she needed one.
