Angels and Demons

Prologue

Kagome was officially lost. Snow covered the inter forest ,making it impossible to decipher the way she had came. Her breath came in shallow gasps and she crossed her arms, trying desperately to regain at least a little warmth. It was futile though. The sun was setting and it would only get colder as night fell. Tears gathered in her eyes. This was her fault. Briefly, she wondered if Bankotsu would come looking for her. Kagome doubted it.

He had been so angry after the fight they'd had. He had been the one after all, to tell her to leave. And so she had. It was a stupid decision though. It would probably end up being her Last. It was almost dark, in a demon infested forest. Kagome had no way to protect herself. In her anger she'd forgotten her bow and arrows.

She clenched her eyes shut. Stupid, stupid, stupid...

Crunch.

Kagomes eyes flew open and she searched the area frantically.

"Who's there? Show yourself!"

She could have swore she'd heard a crunch in the snow. Someone was here with her. Or, she swallowed nervously, something.

For a moment, nothing happened. But then she heard it. Again . And again. Whatever it was, was walking towards her. Kagome definitely wasn't going to stick around to see who it was. She turned and ran. Behind her, she heard a low chuckle. Fear griped her as she realized who it was.

Oh

Naraku.

He appeared in front of her suddenly, and sent her flying backwards. Kagome slammed into a tree and pain blossomed in her head. She moaned and tried to push herself back up but failed when Naraku put his foot on her back and shoved her back down.

"Poor Kagome," Naraku chuckled. "All alone. Looks like nobody's coming to save you this time."

Kagome gritted her teeth, trying to hold back a smart ass comment knowing it would only make the situation worse.

"Naraku," she spat bitterly. "What do you want?"

"You of course. Or, more precisely, Your life."

Kagome only had a moment to process this before everything went black.
