Yeosang didn't know where he was going so I had to lead him through the bustling town towards the one inn I knew of. It was a short and quiet walk as we soon came upon it. Neither of us is willing to fill the silence between us. There was an old lady at the front desk who was half asleep when we walked in the inn. "Hi! Do you happen to have an open room?" I asked, trying to be cheerful as soon as we were in range of her.
She jolted awake and stared at us with a dazed look before nodding her head, "Second floor all the way in the back." Then she turned around and grabbed a key, dropping it in Yeosang's outstretched hands. "That'll be 3 shillings for one night."
Yeosang smiled at her, "Can I give you them in the morning? I'll even throw in a bonus if you wait a little."
The lady looked suspiciously between the two of us with her drowsy eyes, but eventually she just nodded, "I guess that would be okay. Just don't forget, and don't let me forget that this happened capish?"
"Capish." I answered as Yeosang began pulling me to the room, up the stairs, down the hallway, and eventually in the room. And once we were in the room I told him to lock the doors as I began checking the room to make sure the windows were closed. When I was done I sighed and sat on the bed, finally pulling my hand off of my stomach to examine the damage.
Yeosang walked over to where I was seated and grabbed my hand from my hold. Pulling it closer to his face gently as he leaned down to inspect it, "You got your hand pretty good there." he muttered, turning it over to make sure that was all.
"Yeah I know." I stated trying to peer over at it.
Yeosang saw and gently placed my hand gently back in my lap, "That was careless, and you could have gotten yourself even more hurt then you are."
I just shrugged, "I got the map, and that's all that matters. But right now some of those men are most likely following us to see where I go. So that's why we aren't going back to the ship right away."
Yeosang sighed and then glanced around the room before he advanced towards the pillows on the bed and took the pillow case off of one of them. He ripped a small piece of fabric off of the end of it before coming over to me and wrapping it around my hand tightly, "I got that much. Now I can't do much now for it, but once we get on board the ship Yunho can take a look at it for you."
I nodded my head, "I understand, but can I see the map really quickly?"
Yeosang nodded his head and fished it out of his pants before handing it over to me. I was careful when I opened it and spread it out onto the bed. It was blank but had the identifying symbols that said it was the right map. I sighed in relief as I gazed over it with a smile on my face, but Yeosang didn't seem impressed, "Are you seriously telling me that it's a blank map that we just fought for?"
Shaking my head no I stated, "No. Well yes, but no." I sighed and rolled it up again handing it back to him, "The map is blank until the owner performs a certain ritual, I'll explain more on board the ship. But for right now we need to get out of here."
I didn't leave any more time for Yeosang to fight back and stood up from my spot on the bed to walk over towards the window on the second floor. "The person following us would probably be waiting out front, if we can be quiet enough we could slip out the back way unnoticed. Or at least I hope so. From there I know a way through the forest back to my Aunts."
Yeosang eyed me before walking over to look out the window as well, "We can try it, but I'll go first." He added as he opened the window.
I shook my head and placed a hand on his shoulder as he started to throw a leg out of it. "No. They are thinking that I have the map. If someone happens to be on the other side of the inn they'll see me, and I can distract them while you get back to the ship. If I don't make it you just ask my aunt about the map. She can tell you some bits of information about it, not as much as I know, but enough."
