Your POV(seven years ago)
I playfully threw around a rock before noticing my father running toward me.
"Father! Is mother also coming home today?" I smiled.
"Oh...No your mother is...very busy," Father answered. I frowned as I kicked the rock to the side. Mommy is never home she is always busy. Tears began flowing down my cheeks as I clenched my fists.
"Hey...Look at what I got for you and your brother," My father cheered. I jumped up and down in excitement before father scooped me up before raising me up into the air.
"Woah! You're getting big. I certainly can't lift you up like I used to," Father laughed as he put me down.
"Is that chocolate!" I yelled.
"How dare you! It's not just chocolate. It's chocolate made with love~" Father teased. I skipped around in excitement till suddenly my father stretched out his arm to block the way.
"Wait! There's a line of ants we can't just stomp on them," Father cautioned.
I cocked my head to the side, "Why they're so small and tiny."
"Yes that may be true but taking a life whether it's human or not is wrong. You can't just kill someone because they're small and tiny. Yes, you should protect yourself but you should always value life. Mindless killing will only create destruction," Father lectured.
"I don't understand," I bluntly responded.
Father sighed then smiled as he carefully took a necklace from his pocket, "Here, take this. One day I...won't be around but I'll watch you through this necklace and make sure you don't kill any ants." I happily took the necklace and put it on.
Your POV(present)
I felt something rough and wet continuously graze my face. I scrunched up my nose in discomfort as I swatted the object away from me. I quickly sat up realizing it was just a stray cat. It's been a while since I had such a dream. Reminiscing about the past will do nothing for my current situation.
I must finish quickly seems like a thunderstorm is coming. It's already midnight so Alois Trancy should already be sleeping. Master Albion ordered me to steal Alois Trancy's ring. His ring is just one of the other five needed. So far I have only collected two. Once all the jewels are retrieved they grant the user power and one wish. I myself don't care for such fairytales but if my master wants it I'll get it.
Looking at the house I can see how unnecessarily extravagant it is. Someone like him has probably never gone a day hungry and could care less for people of lower status than him. It makes my blood boil. The faster I go in and steal the ring the faster I can get out of here. I put on boots that have sharp blades sticking out of the front. Afterwards, I took out two knives before I began my ascent up the wall.
Once reaching the window I stuck my knife into the latch and pried it open. Alois Trancy was defenceless, sleeping in his bed. I carefully rolled down the covers and gently lifted his hand to reveal Alois Trancy's red ring. It would be a bother if he woke up and caused a commotion even worse if he lives to try and steal it back. I took out my knife once again and raised it over his chest. I lowered the knife to plunge it into his chest but I couldn't. I can't do it. I've never killed a soul all because of my father. His words always echo in my mind. Especially with this necklace as a constant reminder. I can't even bring myself to remove the damn thing. He cursed me. No need to kill him. I guess all I really need is the ring I can deal with the repercussions later.
"Who are you...an assassin? Well, certainly not a good one for sparing him," a voice interrogated from behind me. I felt a cold object press against my neck. The stranger grabbed my hand and twisted it behind my back until I dropped the knife.
"Your master sure is a deep sleeper. All this commotion and he's still fast asleep," I chuckled.
The stranger pressed the weapon even farther into my neck as he snapped, "Answer the question!" I clenched my teeth in frustration. What should I do I can't die here. I need to complete my mission. For master Albion. For my brother.
"Claude, what's all that ruckus about," Alois grumbled as he sat up.
"Nothing of your highness' concern," Claude replied. This butler calls his master "Your Highness" how ridiculous.
"Whose that person...turn on the light. I want to take a closer look," Alois smiled. Claude frowned then used a stray ribbon to tightly tie my hands behind my back before tossing me to the ground. With two quick claps, the lights flickered on.
Alois grabbed me by the chin and lifted my head up to inspect me.
"You certainly have nice eyes and a face I like. I guess I could use you as a playmate...Oh? You're making such a hate-filled facial expression," Alois grinned.
I glared at him and then bit down on his finger. Blood seeped from the exposed flesh. Alois flinched as he slowly licked the wound before kicking me to the side.
"You're like a stray kitty cat. A little kitty that needs to be punished," Alois grumbled.
"Your highness I urge you to try and get information out of her instead of playing around," Claude advised.
Alois sadistically smiled, "Hmph...fine. Throw her into a cellar. Starving her for a while should get information out of her. Oh...and make sure it's a small cell, with no furniture, no windows, cold, damp, and of course dark."
