Brooke's P.O.V
Hi. Im Brooklyn but people call me Brooke. Im 10 and my only family here Mae and she is 11. We are getting adopted by a man. His name is Nathan. Well... I think. We get to his house and me and Mae share a room. He called me down one night. So I got down and he slapped me and said that I didn't follow his rules , But I didn't know his rules. I like wft?!? After that he told us his rules.
Rules
1. No boys over
2. Obey him
& 3. If you try to run away you will be punished.
After that my face hurt. I told Mae and she said we should go back to the orphanage and stay there. We had planed that after he fell asleep we would run back to the orphanage and stay there for a while. He'd finally fell asleep. We went out the window but he heard and called the cops. After the cops took us back "home". We got punished. Our punishment that we had to sleep in the basement which was cold and very dark. Today is my lucky day its my birthday and the day he said he wanted to return us. The only bad thing is ... is that if we get returned then we get punished and can't get adopted for 4 years but Im happy about that.
