Chapter 10 The 57th Expedition Part 2 The Forest Of Giant Trees

We ride along the edge of the forest for a bit . Jean and Armin are talking about commander Erwin . " Point is , I'm praying he doesn't intend for us to camp here . Not with that female Titan on our ass . We'd be sitting ducks . He's got to know that . Yeah , we're just passing through on the way to somewhere else , no one in his right mind would make us stop here . " Jean said .

" All soldiers halt ! " We hear someone yell . " Maybe you spoke to soon Jean ! " I say . We stop our horses . Alright , rookies ! Listen up ! We're assuming intercept position within the trees ! Unsheathe and find a perch ! If any Titans attempt to enter the forest , stop them whatever it takes ! " The soldier who I'm assuming is a squad captain tells us .

" Uh ... Excuse me , sir ? What exactly is the - " Jean gets cut off " I've given you an order ! " The squad captain yells . We each find a spot in the trees . I see Bert . We don't speak to each other though . He doesn't look hurt , thank god .

We just sit there for a while . I'm not sure what's happening inside the forest . Does Erwin know about the Female Titan ? Does he know about Annie ? Is that what this expedition is for ! Is that the reason they won't let us in the forest .

I hear someone yell from inside the forest . Then loud noises . It sounds like canon fire or something ! It's loud . They do know about Annie ! But how ! I need to talk with Bertholdt and Reiner after we get back . And Annie . But what if they ? No , it's impossible . They don't have the equipment to capture or even immobilize her long enough to inflict damage .

Eren is in there along with Levi and his squad . I hate to have Annie do this all by herself but there isn't anything I can do right now . We need to lay low . Somehow they found out about Annie and they knew long enough to plan an attack . We can't risk them finding out who we are . It's quiet inside the forest . I'm starting to feel a bit uneasy .

" Y/N are you ok ? " Armin asked . " Yeah but ... Those noises , it was some type of weapon fire . It couldn't be cannons . I didn't see them bring any in . And the fact that they knew about this threat long enough to set up a formation and an attack is worrying to me mostly because they didn't tell us about this shit before we came out here and risked our asses . " I say .

What if the reason they didn't tell us is cause they suspect someone else to be an enemy . Do they know about Bertholdt , Reiner , and I !? I heard more rounds fire . We waited some more . Then I heard Annie scream . The titans all start going deeper into the forest . They completely ignore us . The scream is working like it's supposed to . " What the hell is this ? They - They're all going in ! Why're they ignoring us all've a sudden ? " Jean says . " ENGAGE ! " A squad captain yells . There isn't anything we can do right now . I just stand there .

I see blue smoke . It's time to go home ! We jump down and get on our horses . We just wait for further orders before we start our journey home . Not my home , I can't wait to get back to it , and see my family , and Pieck , and Porco . Porco , he doesn't know about Marcel . None of them know about his death . We ride out . Armin is saying that the enemy is hiding among our ranks . He only said it to where me and Jean can hear . Damn Armin . I already hate the little son of a bitch . Now he might be an actual problem .We are told to wait .

                          ( Minutes Later )

We get Eren back . But not the warriors . The scouts ride away victorious not us , but we still ride with them . That's what we have to do . We load up all the dead bodies . And start heading back to Wall Rose . Those two dumbasses who were trying to get their dead friends body lured two titans right towards us . We had to let the body's off the wagons so we could go faster .

We got back to Wall Rose and were met with yells and dirty look's because of yet another failed expedition . Tomorrow I need to meet somewhere private with Reiner and Bertholdt we need to discuss how to proceed from here .
