Synopsis
Maple, a naive university student from Bath, sets out on the adventure of her life: three months working at a summer camp on the other side of the world.
She begins working the most gruelling, yet rewarding, job she's ever had and realises she has feelings for her line manager, Bonsai. The pair become almost inseparable, despite Bonsai's routine reprimandings for treating Maple preferentially.
Bonsai insists that she can't help it.
Whilst navigating catching feelings for her boss and the foothills of the Cascade mountains, Maple finds herself trapped in a nightmare: an active shooter is on camp property.
Hello!
This is a story I wrote for my Creative Writing Masters dissertation which I have longed to finish but never had the inspiration to. I'm hoping that, by sharing it with readers, I will pick it back up and finally finish it.
So, welcome to my mind. This story is set at a summer camp at which I worked for several years, Camp River Ranch in Seattle, Washington. You can find plenty of maps and pictures online, if you want to truly immerse yourself in Maple's world.
I have several chapters of this novel already complete and will aim to upload at least one per week whilst I continue to write.
I really hope you enjoy what's to come.
