Soulmates are two people who were meant to be together. They're your friend, best friend, the person you can't live without, they're basically your everything.
And I think I've found the one, I know Jamie is the one I was meant to be with for the rest of my life. He makes my world stop when I see him smile as if he was the only one I could see while everything else was a blur to me. I know it sounds cheesy, but it's true.
And every time we walk through the same sidewalk I'm walking at right now, I couldn't help but remember our first kiss here at this very spot i'm standing on. It was during our sophomore year in high school where he got my first kiss.
It was amazing, and the only thing I could focus on was his lips touching mine and I couldn't help but smile through the kiss.
But how do you officially know that the person you're with is the one?
By their last words. You'll only know if he or she is your soulmate when they die.
We all have this few words that seems to be tattooed on our thighs and no one else is allowed to know but ourselves not even our own family is allowed to know because they said it was an ultimate disrespect to our God.
Mine says, "I'll be right here for you always, please don't let me go."
I know Jamie will say these words someday when we're old. And today is our 3rd year anniversary and i'm meeting him at the Cafe where we first met.
I ordered my usual cup of coffee and took a seat inside the cafe beside the window where i'd often stare out and just look at how peaceful this night is.
I pulled out my phone to check the time and Jamie's nearly late so I sent him a message asking where he is and placed my phone down the table and pulled out a book I read during my spare time.
Half an hour has passed, suddenly my phone rings. It's Jamie.
"Hello? Jamie where are you?"
"I'm sorry i'm late I need to pick you up okay please just wait."
"Jamie tell me what's wrong." I quickly placed my book inside my bag again and stood up from my seat.
"I'll tell you on the way, sorry Ellie."
"It's okay Jamie, i'll hung up now okay? Focus on the road. Love you." I tell him while throwing my empty cup.
"Love you too." He said, and I ended our call.
A few minutes later, I see his black BMW stop right in front of me. I went inside and looked at him, he looked miserable and worried.
"Jamie." I held his free hand, and kissed it softly. "What happened?"
"I got a call from Sophie that my sister's been drugged in the party and Tom was in a white minivan and got her." His hands that were on the steering wheel were turning white from his strong grip and suddenly speeds up.
"Hold on a sec El." He kisses my hand and lets it go once he spotted a white minivan. I fastened my seatbelt and tried as hard as I could to see inside the van.
"I could see Tom. I'm not sure if your sister's there."
He opens my window, and looks outside. Tom soon opens his window and greets us.
"Well hello there lovebirds, whatcha' doing chasing me for?"
"Pullover and let Dana go right now."
"Whatever mate." Tom sped up and changed lanes and was already ahead of us.
In front of us now was a truck who had large metal bars in the back.
"Jamie please change lanes."
He changed lanes and we were beside the truck, but suddenly our car and the truck stopped when we saw the minivan was on fire.
Jamie pulls on the breaks and I nearly hit my head on the window.
Jamie gets out of the car and so did I. He carried Dana out of the car and handed her to me, I helped Dana inside our car as I turned my back I heard a loud explosion.
I placed Dana inside the car and ran towards Jamie who was now lying on the floor.
"J-Jamie no." I lifted his head and made it rest on my legs. "No,no,no."
"Hey it's our anniversary today, check inside the glove compartment I got you something." He coughs.
He took one last breath and said,
"Hey take care of yourself, El." And he collapsed into my arms.
Shit. It's not him.
