A note from the author: I will post a new chapter everyday. Chapters after this one are longer than or equal 800 words, too. Thanks ~~Alex M. B.
Anthony Locke
I woke up, the sun shining strongly at my face, making me feel like it was nearly burning my eyes. Of course it wasn't, though.
This is why I hate Celhemn I thought to myself, getting up from my chair and staring at the books I had left on my table. And here we go, I slept while studying. Again.
I walked off of my room, putting on my leather cuirass as I walked. I picked up the bow I had left near the window, strapped it to my back, together of my quiver, and finally walked out of my house, without eating anything, since I was not hungry.
The village was as quiet as it could be, not many people hanging around... So why stay here? I figured I would go hunting, since it was what could maintain both my hobby of buying countless books, and my food.
As I walked off the path, heading to the forest, Samwell stopped me in my tracks, placing his hand over my shoulder as he mumbled "Stop, my friend."
I turned around, creeped out by his appearance. "Um... Hi." I said, scratching my hair.
"The Assembly calls for you, brother." He told me, pointing at the building that was the head of the Red Dragons, the clan of mages I participated. To be honest, I did not have much practice with magic, and why would the Assembly be calling me, was beyond my comprehension.
"For what?" I asked him, raising my eyebrow.
The hazel eyed man shook his head, shaking his dark hair. "They want to talk to you privately, and informed me not to say anything about the subject." He declared, walking off. "They expect your presence soon."
Well then. This is unexpected. I thought, as I walked towards the wooden building, curious as for what was they calling me for.
As I opened the wooden door, no one was expecting me in the hall, so I walked up the stairs, and entered the from that we called the assembly room, for obvious reasons.
The Assembly is the group of the best mages that have joined the clan. I was not a participant of that group. I am but a mere hunter.
But they wanted me, so who am I to judge?
At the middle of the room was a hardwood round table, around it, say the group I never thought I'd see in my life. They all dressed in hooded robes, though the robes were colored differently. There was one vacant seat to the north of the table.
"Take a seat." Someone who dressed in light blue robes ordered, pointing at the vacant chair.
And so I did, silently heading to the chair and sitting down.
At the other side of the room, the one in red robes sat. "I know you are curious to learn about why did we call you here." He said, passing a sealed letter through the participants, and the letter eventually reached me. "Read it." He continued.
I opened the letter, removing the seal, and eventually, I started to read it.
'To the Red Dragons clan.
It has recently come to my attention that your participants have been in search for the Seven Relics. I, who am not an associate of yours, can still assure all of you that I can grant the location of something vital to your search, as long as you grant me three things.
Firstly, I want you to stay away from any conflicts regarding my clan. Second, I want only four specific persons to search for them. Being those: Anthony Locke, the Archer; Samwell Alster; Victor Drakominas and Astaire Vienna. Thirdly, I want them to deliver the artifacts to Letholdus of Armeny only.
Victor shall meet those three at Fort Alminus
Yours truly, Leonardo Vaos.'
As I raised my head after I finished reading, they were all starting at me.
"What do you have to do with Leonardo?" The one in black growled.
"I know nothing about this man." I told him, realizing this would become an interrogatory soon enough.
"Then why he asked for you and those other three?!" He nearly snarled, angrily.
"Are you sending me to do whatever I need to do or not?!" I asked, this time I being the angry one.
He threw a map across the table, to me. "You are going to that area, you will bring us the information we need, and you are going to deliver it to us. And only to us."
I nodded, picked the map up, and walked off the room. Samwell and Astaire awaited me at the exit. "Was it fun there?" Astaire laughed.
"Let's just go." I told him, looking at the map.
