I pick up its fluttering body and toss it back into the glass bowl. Its fins immediately spread out like a boastful peacock, its gills like the hostel's lacking pump. Then its belly glows red, almost as if lava is trying to burst through to protest my presence. I back away from it just in case it explodes. Who on earth would put a fish on our bathroom counter? Let alone an exploding fish. Just how privileged can these demon spawns be? I fill the bottle and head back to my room. Then I pour some water into the cup directly on top of the glowing coil. It makes a crackling sound. Dammit! I'd forgotten it was plugged in.

After it boils, I add two tablespoons of sugar and select six crackers for today's meal. I sip after each bite. My goodness! This is even worse than Hazel's codfish. If only I can see that Madawaurian Copper now, I'd drop a cloak of invisibility upon us, and choke and choke and choke. Or maybe I'd just watch her jump out of her safe zone, like that exploding fish; then watch quietly as the last breath oozes out. I'd sit there until her balloon flattened. That way my hands would be clean and I'd still have my revenge. Oh, the things that would happen to anyone who has ever hurt me, if only there was some place to hide and wreak havoc on them all.
