"With you gone, who will look after me?" A teary eyed old woman cried. Her greying dark hair was tied into a bun and her deep blue eyes glistened in the light. My mother. Or Diana Whitney to other people. I, who is just a younger version of my mum, picked up her dark skinned hands and held them close to my chest.

I care for the woman, I really do. However, she can be just so overprotective sometimes and the constant calming her down will not be missed on my behalf.

"Dad will, he is still your husband, you know that right?" I half heartedly laughed. My father always protected her, loved her and looked after her. She's just being dramatic.

"Oh, but he doesn't do my coffees right and you know how I need my coffees right." As she said that I placed her hands back down and laughed the conversation off. I continue putting the last little bits and pieces in my final box.

"I'm only going to live a 30 minute drive away." I say for the 100th time. Just after I say that, a big golden brown skinned old man stomped in my room, or my old room I should say.

"And that is not far enough." He chuckles. I grab the first thing I look at, a rubrics cube, and throw it at him. My father. His hair long gone and his tall and buff structure stands with pride. If I had to pinpoint where I get my stubbornness from, it'd be from him.

"Ouch!" He exclaims as he brings his hand up to the back of his head and rubs it.

"That's what you get." I laugh. He walks over to my mother, whose tears are still rolling down her face, and he hugs her from behind.

"And that is an example of why I said it." He said with sarcasm. I smile and finish putting the last of my stuff in a box. I tape it up, all of my stuff is now packed, I'm ready to move out. I turn around to see my parents, my dad still hugging my mum, and I ran over and tackled them into a hug. They've been more than good parents, and they continue do be as such with paying for my apartment and all.

"What will we do without you?" I hear my mum sob.

"You'll flourish." I reply. I pull out of the hug, remembering that my best friend was waiting outside to drive me up.

"Call at least once a week and be safe. We love you so much, Sophia Whitney." My mother said with a stern tone. I grabbed her hands once again and kissed them.

"I pinky promise. I love you guys too." I kiss both of them on the cheek, my father having to lean down for me. I turn around and looked at my mirror one last time.

My wavy black hair was a few inches below my shoulders, my deep blue eyes, like my mother, stared back at me. I smiled at myself, my eyes always seem to look like they're squinting when I smile, genuinely smile. The second I step out of this house, I'm a new woman, my own woman. I grab the last box and head out to my drive way.

My best friend, Alyssa Brown, leans on my car. Her blonde hair in braids, her green eyes staring at her phone. She was obviously attractive but she doesn't show off about it. When she notices me she smiles and waves.

"You're finally done!" She excitedly says. She's always wanted me to move out and it's even more convenient for her since I got an apartment in the same building as her.

"I am! God, it's so weird seeing my room empty." I explain while I open the boot of my old red Jeep and place the box in it.

"It's not your room anymore, what do you think your parents are going to turn it into?" Alyssa asks, opening drivers door. I asked her to drive since I know I wouldn't of been fucked to do it earlier, and I was right.

"I don't know, hopefully something actually good." I answer, hoping in the passenger seat. I observe my parents walk out the two story house. It was actually very large, my parents are both doctors so that meant a rich childhood for me, but also a very lonely childhood.
