I open my eyes. Wait? Nasaan ang mag-ama na katabi ko kagabi?
I look at the wall clock and it's already 8:00 in the mornin'.
I brush my teeth and wash my face before going down.
What a view. I saw my daughter mixing something in a mixing bowl while her father is frying something in the pan.
"Daddy!" she shouted in her cute voice. Pa'no ba kasi nahulog kunti ang hinahalo n'yang itlog.
Marvin laugh genuinly. Lorrain giggle and continue mixing again. Napangiti din ako.
"Bakit nandito ka lang?" I heard my ate spoke from behind. "Ayaw mo bang lapitan ang mag-ama mo? Pero sabagay ang sarap din naman nilang tingnan. She is really a girl version of Marvin." Ako ang nagtiis ng siyam na buwan tapos hindi ko kamukha ang anak ko. Naku ka talaga Marvin grabe ang genes mo. Napailing nalang din ako.
"Good morning" Marahan kong bati sa kanila pagkalapit ko.
"Good morning, mommy" my daughter spread her hands widely for a hug
"Good morning" he said and make something in the cup.
He handed me the cup and I realized it's a coffee. How thoughtful this guy naman.
"Daddy, can you help me with this one?" our child ask in a polite tone.
Sabay naming tiningnan si Lorrain na hinahalo ang mga ingredients sa bowl.
"What are you trying to make, baby?" I asked her sweetly.
"Cookies, mommy, cooooookieeesss" she giggled again. She's happy.
"oh, that is difinitely delicious"
"Of course, daddy and I are the best Baker in the world" she looked at her father at nilagyan ng ingredients ang ilong nito sabay tawa.
"oh, baby" madrama s'yang tumingin sa bata at kumuha din at pinahid sa noo nito.
He tickle her "mommy, help" she shout between her laugh.
Kaya kumuha nadin ako at pinahid sa kanyang mukha. Oh, Oh. Mukhang napadami yata.
"Mommy, you're gonna regret what you did" he look at me na parang parurusahan sya ako kaya tumakbo na ako at umikot sa mesa.
Umikot ako sa mesa ng habulin nya ako. Sa sobrang lakas at laki ng katawan nya ay nahuli nya rin ako maya-maya. Alam nya na may kiliti ako sa leeg at tagiliran kaya halos hindi na ako makahinga ng kilitiin nya ako. Napahiga ako sa sahig kaya binuhat nya ako at dinala sa sala para ihiga sa sofa. Nagpatuloy s'ya sa pagkiliti sa akin kaya napasigaw ako sa sobrang tawa.
"Tama na, Marvin" tawa parin ako ng tawa pero mas malakas naman ang tawa n'ya kesa sakin. "Tumigil kana, Hahahahah" hindi na ako halos makahinga.
"Tell me you love me and I'll stop" he said between his laugh but I see sorrow in his eyes.
"Lorain, help me" I shouted between my laughter.
"Daddy, let go of mommy" umakyat sya sa sofa at pilit na kinikiliti ang kanyang ama kaya binitawan ako ni Marvin at lumipat kay Lorrain.
He tickle her and they laugh together. Laughter is the only noise in the house today.
After I ate breakfast we bake the cookies together.
"I want to bring you to Manila. I want Lorrain to meet her grandparents. mom and dad are getting old they need to see our child." He said. Nakatulog kasi si Lorrain.
Tumango ako sa kan'ya. "When?"
"When Lorrain is awake" I always admire his baritone voice.
"Kung ganoon, kailangan ko na palang magligpit ng mga gamit" tumayo kaagad ako.
