LIAM POV

Liam doesn't know what came over him that night. Wether it was the alcohol, stress, or the asshole who bumped into him. Whatever it was made him violent. The loud music from the party pumped into his head, filling his brain, and coursing through his veins like a new found strength or adrenaline. He knew people were watching, maybe even recording, but he didn't care.

People were always watching him, Prince Payne. Prince of England. Luckily, nothing more. His older sister and best friend, Nicola, was the heir to the throne. Nicola was always much better at this stuff. She even enjoyed it. Liam on the other hand, was not a fan of it and wished he was a regular kid. He grasped onto any form of normalcy he could find. So much so, that he even convinced his parents to let him go to public school.

Of course, no one there saw or treated him as an equal, and that's what led him to where he is now, looking at a ghost of himself. A battered and bruised version of the prince was staring back at him in the mirror, and all he can think is, "I blew it. My one chance at laying low and being normal, gone."

There were knocks on his bathroom door reminding him that 'The car is here!' and 'We need to leave as soon as possible!' He pulled himself together and made his way to the vehicle provided. He tried to distract himself, to think of anything but last night, but his mind wouldn't cooperate.

Liam stumbled down the stairs, ignoring the guys trying to be his friend and the girls asking ever-so-politely for a picture with him.

He blinked hard. 'Don't think about this now' But it was no use.

~

A group of guys crowded around him, desperate to speak to 'the one and only'. A boy grabbed him.

~

Liam put a hand up to block his scarred face from the paparazzi outside his car, the flashing lights of the camera bringing him back to the party, once again.

~

Strobe lights flickered and Liam felt himself being pulled back by the shirt. He head-butted the boy and shoved him off. The crowd went crazy. "Baby Prince don't take no shit!" He snarled at the people crowding him. "Back up!" he managed to yell before he was decked in the face.1

~

The video went viral over night. Obviously, his parents were furious. This was bad for public image. Heaven forbid the world knows that the Royal Family isn't perfect. He let his music wreck his eardrums throughout the car ride, a feeble attempt to ease his mind.

"Hello? Prince Payne are you listening?"

Liam pulled off his headphones and directed his attention to the woman sitting next to him. Amy, his assistant, or rather 'royal advisor', if you wanted to get fancy. Although currently irritated by her presence, he probably spent more time with her than his own mother.

"Here." She hands him a piece of paper.

"What the hell is this?" he asked.

"Your speech where you ask for forgiveness."

He scoffs and makes a face. "Seriously?"

Amy smiles sympathetically. "Seriously."

"No way." He couldn't get payed enough for this.

"The Queen says she wants you to address it personally."

Liam read off the paper, growing continuously horrified with the artificially crafted words meant to fit in his mouth. "For this reason, my parents and I have decided that I Nicol enroll at Hillerska Boarding School immediately?" His voice gradually increased in volume, practically yelling at this point.
