Veronica's POV
Even after being on the main roster for nearly a year, everyone still considered me the new girl, the fresh meat, the one everyone was waiting for to fall on their ass so they could laugh at them. That hadn't happened to me yet. I had a few friends, but lot's of the girls still seemed to hate me. The Bella's were friends, and Summer helped me out with brushing the others off. Paige, Rosa and Alicia had been super nice once they'd established that I knew how to have fun. AJ had been great before she left. But other than that, the men had been where I'd made my closest friends. Dolph had smiled at me on the first day when I was lost on my way to catering, and helped me there. He then never let me hear the end of it. I usually ate at catering with Dolph, Cody, Randy, Seth and Zack. They were good fun, and super helpful.
I found the table the lot were at and sat down inbetween Dolph and Zack with my food.
"Hey guys." I said. They all greeted me.
"Hi Ronnie." Dolph said, eating a cookie.
"Hey," I said, poking him in the ribs, "Thought you were giving up the cookies?"
"Me too. " He gave me a look. "But the cookie made me eat it."
"Can the cookie make you give me back my Friends boxset, Mr White Chick?" I said, poking him again.
"Not even a cookie can do that, Veronica." Cody said.
"Yeah, that's beyond the cookie's ability." Dolph assured, nodding. I rolled my eyes. "Plus I haven't finished watching it yet."
"You've had that shit for like six months." Randy chuckled. Dolph nodded, shrugging.
"It's Dolph. He took a year to give me back five dollars." Seth said.
"But I payed it back!" He pointed a finger at Seth.
"Oh hey guys!" Alicia walked over to us. "Veronica, I was wondering if you'd want to come on a walk with me just to the vending machine, you said you wanted to get peanuts earlier?" I nodded.
"Yeah, lets go. Bye dudes." I got up, leaving my hoodie with Dolph. I dusted a crumb off my ring gear, (Black jean shorts and a loose purple ripped up shirt over a black sports bra. black converse too.) and we started on our walk to the other side of the arena.
"So......." Alicia said, "You and Dolph?" I scrunched my nose up.
"I love him, but no thanks. He's practically my brother. I can't ever imagine being with him." I replied.
"Thank God." She said. "I'm asking him out tonight." I paused.
"But-" I started.
"I finished with Jason three weeks ago." Now her face was scrunched as she talked. "He was a jackass."
"It took you three years to figure that out?" I yelped.
"It seems so."
"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked.
"I was going to get back with him after a week or two, but then he made a big deal out of the fact he had sex with some girls that were my friends.... and that was the final realisation I was sleeping with an asshole."
"Well, I'm glad I don't have to deal with him "accidentally" coming into the dressing room and staying for ten seconds." I spoke, wondering if she was happier now.
"Me too. Creep." She shuddered. " Aaaaaanyway, we can get turnt up tonight as single girls."
"Hell yeah we can." I smiled at her. We reached the vending machine and continued talking as she punched in the numbers. Out of the corner of my eye I could see someone walking over, but ignored them.
"Oh hey ladies." A raspy voice said from behind us. I turned around to see Dean, in a hoodie and jeans, looking at us. Foxy reached down to grab her snack and said
"Hi Ambrose.", perkily. He looked me up and down.
"Have we met?" He asked. I rolled my eyes.
"No." I said. "Not properly."
"Why not?" He said. Because you were too busy being Mr Badass member of the shield. I shrugged. "Well I'm Dean, and if you ever need any help with your stretching, or washing properly, I'd be happy to help." Alicia laughed and said goodbye to me and Ambrose then left. It would be strange to say I felt less safe, but I'm about honesty.
"Yeah, and if you ever need any help on how not-to-be-a-scumbag, I'd be happy to help too." I flashed him a smile before turning around to use the machine.
"Hey." He barked and grabbed my arm and turned me around. "Don't talk to me like that." He grumbled. I tried to pull my arm away but his grip was tight.
"Get the fuck off me." I growled back. He pulled a pouty face and laughed so I punched him in the stomach and he stumbled back, letting go of my arm. I quickly got my peanuts and turned back around. Dean shot me a grin and as I walked past he came up behind me.
"You'll regret that, little shit." He said into my ear before stalking off.
"I'm scared." I called after him sarcastically.
