Kate's POV

great. the back of the class. the one place I hate. I can't even see the bored. I wanna ask to move to the front but I'm too scared that she'll be mad about me complaining. I guess I should just deal with it.

After this I have science class. I want to see chris again. He was so nice to me. I know what you're thinking. "omg she has a crush on him." But no. I don't. I just want to be his friend. I want someone like him to be my friend.

Math class ended and I walked to science. When I got there I didn't expect to see Chris standing at the door waiting to go in.
"Oh, you have this class too?" I asked.
"Yeah. Not my best subject though." He said quietly.
"Yeah, me neither." I chuckled.
We went in the classroom and since it was the first day we got to pick our seats. I sat in the second row near the window. And you know what? He sat right beside me. I was shocked that he didn't sit next to one of his other friends.
"You aren't gonna sit with your friends?" I asked confused.
"You're my friend, aren't you?" he said and winked.
"Sure, I guess." I replied while looking down at the desk.
"Are you nervous about something?" he asked.
"Me? No no. I'm fine." I smiled.

The teacher walked in and started instructing the class on the lesson. I didn't really like science so I decided to open a notebook and doodle. I started sketching a flower. Chris looked over at my desk to see what I was drawing. He seemed interested but I always get nervous when someone watches me like that. I started shading the flowers pedals. And then I hear the teacher walking. She walks closer to me. And then, snatch! The note book goes out from under the pencil, leaving a long streak of pencil mark across the flower. I lose it. I slam my fists on the table and shout.
"Give me my sketch book right now!"
"Miss, Kate! You do not talk to me that way! Sit down!" The teacher yelled.
"No I'm not sitting 'till you give it back!" I say.
She starts flipping through the pages to see what I've drawn in there. She puts it back on my desk and rights a slip of paper then puts it on my desk.

Lunch detention. Just great.

I have to eat lunch in the library. Chris looks at the slip of paper.
"Ooh, lunch detention. That sucks." he says.
"Yeah no kidding." I say.
"I could join you if you want."
"Really? How?"
"I'll show ya."
He crumbles a piece of paper and throws it at the back of the teachers head. She turns around.
"Who threw that?!" She yells. Chris stands up.
"I did. And I feel no shame whatsoever." He smiles.
"That's a lunch detention, Mr Evens." She called him by his last name which I thought suited him. Chris Evens.
