Victoria G: What inspired you to become a photographer?
Lisa Lovegood: I like capturing special moments. For myself, but also for others. Always have, always will. I think it's as simple as this.
VG: Who are some photographers that inspire you?
LL: I really love Dana Trippe (@trippydana). Her art is absolutely stunning. In the concert photography world I adore Skyler Barberio's (@skylerbarberio) work.
VG: What is your favorite thing about photography?
LL: That photos speak for themselves.
VG: You mainly work in concert photography. How did you get into that type of photography and what do you enjoy most about it?
LL: I have a website called www.indievidualist.de for which I interviewed a lot of artists and bands over the past 10 years or so. I wanted to produce my own photos to go along with the interviews, so I started shooting shows. I loved it so much that this is currently what I am focusing on while figuring out how I'd like to continue with the website. What I enjoy most about it is that it gives fans and the people that attended the show the opportunity to re-live that feeling once again when looking at the photos.
VG: What has been your favorite concert you did photography for?
LL: Oh there are so many! Probably Aurora at the Albert Hall in Manchester, I am really proud how well those photos turned out. I also really love shooting Suki Waterhouse's show in London a few weeks ago. She's wonderful.
VG: How would you describe yourself in three words?
LL: Loving, kind and iconic.
VG: What are your social media handles?
LL: @lisalovegoodphotography on Instagram.
VG: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
LL: Happy, living somewhere warm on the beach in my super cute house with a nice little photography studio close by.
VG: What are three qualities every photographer should have?
LL: Being authentic. Being able to support other photographers and knowing that everyone's work is unique - no one can take the same photo. Being curious about life.
VG: What advice do you have for an aspiring photographer?
LL: Do what you can with what you have. I used to think I'd only be able to get good photos with a brand new camera and expensive lenses. I really used to beat myself up about it. Then I realised that expensive equipment might bring a certain level of sharpness to your photos, but it won't bring emotion or beauty. Everything that makes a photograph interesting for me doesn't depend on the quality of it, but how I feel looking at it - I want it to transport a feeling.
VG: What's next for you?
LL: I'm currently gathering my ideas around projects that I wanna start. I'd love to get more into portrait photography and combine it with what I am passionate about outside of music.
VG: RAPID FIRE QUESTIONS What's your favorite style of music?
LL: Pop!
VG: What is your favorite song?
LL: Always changes, at this moment in time: Pinegrove - Cyclone
VG: What is something you can't live without?
LL: Sunshine!
VG: Do you have any hidden talents?
LL: I sing - but it makes me utterly uncomfortable.
VG: Do you have any pets?
LL: Sadly not at the moment. :(
VG: What's your favorite food?
LL: Pizza Pasta Gelato
VG: What's your favorite movie?
LL: Pretty Woman
