The Great Hall was chattering with noises, and students with black robes were happily enjoying the lunch of October 16 1976 even in the dark times. The staff of Hogwarts were watching the students of four different houses devouring their food and chatting with each other from the high table.
Everything was normal, well normal as it can be in a magical school with the marauders.
With a tangled mess of jet black hair and round spectacles was James Potter, he was staring at the fiery red-haired girl, Lily Evans, talking non-stop about how beautiful she was and how they would be perfect together to his best mate, Sirius Black.
But Sirius Black was busy glaring at the brown-eyed witch, Lysandra Cadieux at Slytherin's table. She was talking with his brother, Regulus, only for him to glare more.
"Come on Padfoot glaring won't do anything." Peter Pettigrew, a mousy blond boy, sighed from across.
"Wormy is right Sirius, she is not even glancing at you. One would think you are jealous because she is talking to Regulus." Said Remus, finally looking up from his transfiguration book.
"Are you guys even listening?" James asked.
Peter and Remus rolled their eyes, but Sirius glared at Slytherin's table, "No offence prongs but I don't care how beautiful Evans is."

"If looks could have killed-" Lysandra started from Slytherin's table.
"James Potter would have been long dead by the eyes of Lily." Evan Rosier finished her sentence. "Why are Fiana and Eleanor, our snakes, sitting with her?"
"Cause they lost a bet with Evans, Evan." Barty Crouch Jr. snickered at his joke but Evan looked unimpressed.
"Why aren't you with Snape again?" Evan asked.
"Can't I sit with my fellow housemates Rosier? Besides he was talking with Avery, I don't like Avery." Barty said childishly.
Rabastan, who was also sitting near the group, diverted his attention from the conversation with Evan and looked at the Gryffindor table, "Eleanor looks like she wants nothing more than to strangle Fi."
"When does she not." Regulus shrugged.
That's what Eleanor Malfoy does most of the time, glare at Fiana Selene, but it was common knowledge, as common as James's infatuation with Lily and the hatred between Lysandra and Sirius, that both are closer than sisters. And don't sisters fully hate each other? But it was also hard to hate Fiana Selene when she decided that she was going to be friends with you. That's what happened in their case.

"Remind me to kill you after this," Eleanor grumbled, eating her mashed potatoes.
"You love me, Ellie, besides too many death threats, are unhealthy," Fiana said waving her spoon to emphasize her point.
"I would like to hear you saying that to Lysandra," Lily said from across her.
The term for sixth years was started with double potions, with partners decided by the potion master, Horace Slughorn. And Lily and Lysandra were coincidentally next to Sirius and Adrian Fester, a fellow Ravenclaw. Let's say Lily has put up with how Lysandra will kill Sirius Black for three hours.
Both burst into laughing, Marlene and Dorcas joined them too, and even Eleanor cracked a smile.
"Adrian asked me on a date, I still can't believe it. " Dorcas asked her light brown hair bouncing with excitement.
Lily's face lit up at this, "You have told us already Dorcas, you two would look cute together."
"Uh! Stop talking about relationships now, we have a long life ahead." Fiana said exasperated.
"From which I remembered, I am a Godmother." Marlene interrupted.
"I was saying something McKinnon, besides you are telling me now."
Everything was normal, well again normal as it can be in a school of magic in a magical world.
And magic was now about to start. With some new appearances.
