Chapter One.
Ash looked over to Ethan and frowned, he was everywhere, she just couldn’t avoid him, well at least, not at his own sister’s parties, she was his sister’s best friend Amanda loved Ash and Ash loved Amanda, she frowned and looked down at her drink, soda, she didn’t drink much, with that a lot of people laughed, “Your so innocent!” they’d giggle. She turned her head to the side and watched as he snuggled his head into that blonde’s neck making her giggle, Ash sighed, she had forgotten that girl’s name again, she sighed as Amanda walked up to her and hugged her, “HEY ASH!” she said a little tipsy, “You have no idea how glad I am to see you.” She slurred, she looked around but before Ash could even say “Happy 21st.” she said gone, which wasn’t a surprise, then Ash was left alone in between a lot of snobby people, she pushed her drink aside and felt someone else walking to her she turned to see Ethan, she forced a smile, she had known him for years but it was very awkward around him, ever since she confessed her love when she was 14 and he was 20. Now she was 20, and he was 26, it was a long time ago but she could still hear the laughter that blasted from him, “You’re a child!” he laughed at her shaking his head, “I’d never want you.” He explained rather harshly, which made her feel like crawling under a rock, she made herself think those days were over but after moving back three weeks ago, she learned old habits die hard, she had moved away from the city when he was 16 and just only came back, she had changed from her braces and Chubby cheeks and turned into a real woman, but a very fidget real woman, who was afraid of love to be honest, so it only made sense she only made small talk with him, he looked down at her with charming blue eyes, his hair was a light brown, his hips narrow and his shoulders Broad, which gave him the look of someone who worked out a lot, which he probably didn’t since he was a business man but she wouldn’t know, he stared down at her with that amused look, “Soda I see.” He said simply with a shrug ordering another whisky, she looked down, “I don’t drink.” She said quickly, “So Innocent.” He murmured, “Always has been.” He added with a wry smile, she went bright red, “I’ve changed.” She said seriously looking up at him, “Sure you have.” He laughed, “We’ll have to catch up some day soon, when I have the time, Ciao.” He said walking away,
Jerk. She thought, he’d always been the same; this was the first time he’d talked to her since she got back.
Until one day, 3 days later she got a phone call, she picked it up pressed the phone to her ear, it was 3 o’clock in the morning, she frowned, “Hello?” she said groggy.
Her eyes were sore and she was tired, she had been sleeping since 9:00 pm but she needed more sleep that was for sure, who would be ringing at this ungodly hour? Leave that up to Mr. Ethan Montgomery,
Ethan frowned, “Where’s Amanda?” he demanded,
“I have no idea what you are talking about!” she said, “She should be at home right?” she smirked knowing exactly where Amanda was, Ethan was over protective,
“Oh don’t give me that, you know damn well she’s not home.” He said, “Now where is she?” he asked,
Her eyes closed for a second as if she was just going to fall right back asleep with him on the line but she shook her head and sat up yawning, she was dressed in a lace bra and underwear that she always wore to bed, she sighed, “Ethan, I don’t know.” She lied,
“Alright fine I’m coming over.” He said with an angry tone,
“Don’t you know some people are asleep at 3:00?” she frowned, “Do you only think about yourself?”
“And the wellbeing of my sister!” he frowned,
He hung up, she hoped he wouldn’t come over, but she knew for a fact he would.
