I was different and I hated being so. I can't go outside or else my skin inflames in hives, I have severe allergic reactions to garlic, and every so often while I'm eating I'll bite my lip by accident and start to bleed profusely.

Lucky me, I was only half-vampire so my results weren't as serious as they could have been.

I stand up from the wooden chair in my room and walk over to my bed. The only safe space I have in this damn town. Even though I never slept in it for long periods, I would try my best to. All I wanted was to be a normal human girl. To sleep in a bed and not a coffin, to be able to see me in a mirror, and to even go outside without having to be rushed to an ER.

I flop down onto it, bouncing a few times before lying completely still. Staring up at my banner-covered ceiling, my eyes start to feel heavier by the second. I doze off in a sleep-like trance while my head falls limp to the right side of me.

I take in a deep breath as my eyes fly open. Instead of taking in air, I had gotten a mouth full of water. As my eyes open I look around and notice I'm underwater at a beach. My legs were shaking and they scrambled for the ground to push off of. I kick at the water under me and reach upwards for the air above me. My foot brushed against some sand and I quickly step onto it and jump upwards.

My head peeked from above water as I stood up. I didn't recognize the outfit I had on, it was a simple white satin dress with black lace-like mesh draped over making patterns of skulls and roses. It was a truly beautiful dress, but I've never seen anything like it in my wardrobe.

I breath heavy and look around me to see where I am. I was surrounded by docks and small beach houses, but all of them seemed to be vacant. There wasn't a single person for as far as I could see, other than myself. Clouds covered the slightly visible moon, as the sky started to turn brighter and brighter.

I head towards the shore, heavily soaked. As I got closer to the bare sand more rocks seemed to appear and hurt the bottoms of my feet. I walk across each rock and wince in pain. Finally making it to the sand, I stumble over and fall on my side, injuring my hip. I look up and see each star disappear with the sky lightning. I start to push myself backward with my feet, I was truly terrified of what the sun could do to me.

I stumbled back onto my feet and started to run. I ran as fast as I could, but alas, the sun was always faster than I could ever be. The sun started to shine onto my skin and I screamed for help. Running was no use, the sun was already covering me.

My heart was beating uncontrollably and my hands were shaking. Suddenly I realized, it didn't hurt. My skin wasn't breaking out or burning. I swallow a lump in my throat and look up at the sky covering my eyes.

The sun didn't affect me like it has numerous times before. My heart was pounding outside of my chest. Why wasn't I being cooked alive? My heavy breathing slows down as I try to calm myself and stay steady.

My eyes flew open as I gasped for air. I was back in my bed as if nothing happened, but I knew that wasn't the case. This wasn't the only time it's happened and it goes much farther and more complicated detail than what it seems to be on the outside. I hate having these visions, they won't leave me alone.
