I walk into my old friends tavern.
It was so nostalgic. The place hasn't changed at all. There were people chattering away seated at tables, a small old boom box that was playing a familiar song that I knew all to well, dimly lit lights and candles all over the place... The place felt like home...No.
It was home.
I made my way to the back of the tavern to see my old friend.
Otis Lancaster.
He had white, fluffy long, and curly hair, a cowboy hat on, a fluffy brown fur coat, a whitish stubble mustache and beard, a white button up on and blue jeans.
His horns and fluffy ears though I couldn't really see as well as well... His face.
"Otis Lancaster, you haven't changed have you?" I chuckled. "It's been ten years old friend and you still look as handsome as ever!"
"Hm?" The old friend turned around, cup in one hand and a rag in the other as he was cleaning a cup. "Pardon me... Do I know you?" He questioned, raising a brow. "You look a lot like... Jesse?" He rose a brow, somewhat looking me up and down.
Ah... Hes still so handsome...
Now seeing his face, it all looked the same.
The burn wound on the right side of his face, his right white eye and the other a dark chocolate brown and his tan skin. He looked beautiful.
"Yes that's me, the flesh and all!" I brightly smiled. Otis' expression saddened.
"Why did you leave Jesse... It's been ten years. Ten years and now you decide to come back." He didnt seem to be so happy, he wasnt happy at all, placing the note cleaned cup onto his counter before crossing his arms. "You know if Warren were to see you I don't know what he'd do."
Ah, Warren. How I've missed him. He used to be an old partner of mine until...
"I had to marry Otis, don't you remember? I forced into marriage by my father." I frowned. I thought he'd be happy to see me again. "But I ran away because I wasn't happy there. I told my wife I wasnt happy... I like men Otis." I tried my best to not break although it hurt to tell him the truth.
"I had a kid too Otis..." I admitted. "I can't see him now.." I weakly smiled although it hurt.
Otis stared at me, listening to every word I said. "I'm sorry Jesse, I just... I thought you left after getting into an argument with Warren... I didn't know it was all of this." He sounded genuine. "That's just... That's fucked up, I get why your ex wife would be upset but, not letting you see your kid is just wrong." He shook his head sadly. "How's about a drink hm?" He then asked. "It's on the house?" He offered me with a toothy smile.
"Well... I could go for a drink so why not!" I laughed as Otis began to fix me a glass of Whiskey.
While he did that I began to examine the place a bit, sitting my self down onto a stool at Otis' counter.
I almost instantly noticed a man who was sat next to me.
He had a cowboy hat on, long black hair as well as a long black beard and glasses on, a long black trench coat, a white button up, a red bandana wrapped around his neck and somewhat tucked into his white button up, and dark blue blue jeans on and a glass of Otis' famous Herbal tea in hand. He also had to black gloves on.
He looked so familiar but... I couldn't quite think of who he reminded me of.
"Here's your glass of Whiskey." Otis smiled, placing the glass of Whiskey on the counter in front of me before turning his attention to the man sat on he left hand side of me. "Thank you Otis." I took the glass.
"You're a wanted man Warren, there's three men outside waiting for you when you leave here. I suggest you go out the back once you're done okay?"
Warren?!
That's Warren?!
"Warren Breaker?! Otis, Is that Warren Breaker?!" I shot up from my stool turning my attention onto the two.
"Yeah, It's him alright." Otis laughed.
"Why didn't you tell me?!" I was completely and utterly shocked.
"I thought it'd be best you found out yourself Jesse plus Ol' Warren here didn't really want to how do I put this... He's not how he used to be Jess-!" Out of know here a knife was right at my neck, my once old best friend was right behind me holding it up to my neck.
"Why are you here?" Warrens voice was filled with hatred. "I told you to LEAVE and to NEVER come back."
"Hey Woah, woah, woah there. Put down the knife Warren. He has a good reason to why he left and why he's back here okay? Just put down the knife and here him out, will you?" Otis slightly smiled.
I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die at the hands of my own friend!
"Fine.." Warren slowly put the knife down and onto the counter before sitting back down onto his stool. "Why are you back?" He glared over at me.
"You know Warren... That was kind of hot." I said out of the blue.
The two men stared at me with both confusion and shock. "I-i mean it was cool! But, besides the point.. let me tell you okay?" I glanced over to Warren.
I told him exactly what I told Otis that my Father forced me into marrying my ex-wife and that ten years later I confessed to her that I like men and that I was kicked out and decided the only place that I could go was... Here.
"You could've ran away with me Jesse... We could've both ran and we would've been safe." Warren huffed just shaking his head.
"It's not that simple Warren."
"What's not simple, I loved you Jesse! I would've kept you safe, why didn't you just stay!"
"You what...?"
Warren was teary-eyed as he stared at me.
"I loved you but.. you didn't see any of it." Before I could respond to what he had just said, he got up from his stool and began to leave, making his way out through the back of Otis' Tavern.
"Warren wait!" Otis and I both called out, quickly following after him.
Maybe... I did make mistake leaving the both of them and never visiting...
I hope they know I do love them both a lot.
