I made my way to my original table in the cafeteria. My friends are waiting anxiously for me as the look around. The blonde girl, Gemma, founds me first and waves at me signaling to me to sit next to her. I obliged and set my bag in the table with my lunch.
"What happened that you are more late than normal?" Cody, my other best friend, ask. I stare at his piercing blue eyes giving him the 'look' and he understood.
With narrowed eyes Gemma turns to me, "Did Mr. Cracky ass gave you more work to do?" Knowing the answer she shook her head and sighed biting her apple. Her green eyes wander around the cafeteria and then settle on me.
"He holds a grudge on you since when your father talk to him last year," she spoke.
Truth is my father expect to get from me A's or B's in all my exams. But last year Mr. Sanchez gave me a bad grade for a stupid thing because I didn't answer in "complete sentence" and gave me a C in the exam. Things didn't get pretty in the office and the rumor spread over the school.
"Gurl were have you been?" Sasha asked sitting next to me, Taylor and Max following her. She was an African-American-Native so her skin was dark as her hair, and she has this street accent that usually scares people.
"The usual," I shrugged and she nodded knowing the full story behind the action.
"Peebs you gotta stand up to him because he ain't going to give you more shit," Max said shaking his head so his black hair fell over his brown eyes. Next to him was Taylor nodding in agreement.
Taylor had ginger hair and green eyes with sparks of gold that I adore. He was tall, slim but strong, not like Cody who had a built body and tanned, but still you could see some muscles.
"Are you going to my house after school?" Peter announced as he dropped his bag in the middle of the table. He was from Mexico and he was tanned, brown eyes and hair. His accent wasn't hard to missed like his small height.
"Sorry, can't mom had something to announce to my family," I said honestly. My mom had some surprising news to tell and she wanted us all gather home tonight. Peter shrugged and asked the others.
School ended and I recognize my older brother's car parked in front of the school. I walked towards the car and got inside.
"Hey princess," Jackson greeted. He was on his third year of uni and we shared similar looks with our light brown hair and blue eyes.
"Hey big bro," I greeted back and he drove off. We arrived at home in minutes and my parents' cars were already there. We hurried inside eager to hear the news.
"Now that we are all present here, I want to announce that our new neighbors are moving tomorrow. I want you to give them a warming welcome in town so they can feel at home." Mom announced clapping her hands at the end to get everyone full attention.
"They are from Canada and they had a son around your age, Marianne. That way is going to be much better when he enters school and you can include him in your group of friends," she suggested and I responded with a quick 'yeah'.
"Tomorrow when you get from school I want you to help them and if you have time, show them around. Okay?" She implied. We nodded and she smile and then ushered us to our rooms to start school work. In the middle of my study section my 8 year old brother rushed inside my room.
Ian has dark brown hair at difference from me and Jackson but still has the same brown eyes. He is adorable and very curious for his age.
"Big sis have you seen my Michael Angelo toy?" He asked looking around my room kneeling next to my bed.
"No love but I think I saw it in the kitchen," I replied and he grinned and he ran off. I laughed when I heard him scream in glee sensing that he found it and got back to where I was.
My mind drifted in thoughts at how can my new neighbors be. Are they friendly or druggies? Better, is their son good looking and charming or a creep and asshole? I let out a breath closing my book and changed into my pj's.
I stared at the ceiling and gave up in thinking about my new neighbors. Anyway I'm going to find out tomorrow when I see them. Maybe I can befriend their son and learn about him. With that in mind I fell in a deep peaceful sleep.
