chapter eight: Dad

I quicken my pace, from slow, to a fast walk, to a jog, to a run, to a flash. I'm almost there, I will see him soon. This madness will end. I can finally be happy......
In seconds I'm a few feet from my destination. I stop mostly to catch my breath, but partly to feel the moment. I don't want to wait, but my feet stay plastered to the cement. I stare.
As a kid, this place felt like a palace, a kindom of fun and fantasy. A place u shared, not only with other kids, but with daddy. It was our place. And now it will be again. The proof? Cars. One is purple........

At 11:28 I enter. Deep breaths cannot calm my heart beats, as I make my way to the break room to meet the night crew. I swallow hard before entering. Inside, The pounding grows.
"Hi." I say, lowering my head. Damn. I'm being awkward. "I'm the new guard, its nice to meet you." "So your the newbie? You should have got a different job." I look up to the speaker. A guy with Bandages on his hands. "Welcome to hell." He says. "M-mike don't say that." A timid young guy says. "Well it is!" The young boy says, "ignore him, I'm Jeremy, thats mike." He points at the guy who referred this place as hell.
"That's fritz," a boy with glasses and orange hair, "phone guy," a man with a phone head, interesting, "and vin-" "DAD."

The room is silent. My eyes are locked with my father's. "Violet? Is that you?" " hi daddy, its been a while....."
