"Yellow or green?" I held each top up to my chest. I was trying to decide what to wear. I had my cellphone propped up against the mirror in the bathroom.
"Hmm, I say go with the yellow outfit. That color always looks amazing on you. Plus, you guys are just going to a lounge. Isn't that what Honey told you?" My girl best friend and cousin, Baek Cho-Hee, shrugged through FaceTime.
"Yes. He did say that. But it's a lounge for famous people! I'm only getting in cause I'll be with him. Any other time, I don't think I would be able to go. Supposedly it's off limits to the public. It's called La Vue. It has a bar, restaurant, arcade, karaoke room and some other fun stuff he told me about. Basically it's made so famous people can have fun without getting a ton of cameras shoved in their faces or privacy invaded by fans and media. Even the location is a secret. It's somewhere in the city I know that much."
"Well, who knows, you might end up go-karting. Go with the yellow T. It looks more comfortable than the jeans and green sweater top." She suggested while rolling her eyes upwards.
I chewed on my bottom lip trying to decide for myself. "I don't know if it'll look right." I felt my forehead crease.
"Tahiri, you'll look good in a sheet if you wore it." She sighed. I knew she was sick of my going back and forth with clothes. We'd been at it for almost two hours and now.
"You're right." I said cockily making her laugh. "I do look good in anything. I'll go with this fit then." I laid the outfit on the bed and picked out the accessories I wanted to put on for tonight.
"You wanna do brunch tomorrow at grandmas diner?"
"As long as I can get a few of your special mimosas in, I'm down!" Cho-Hee grinned devilishly.
"I'll have to take some of the soju out of her stash but I'll make them. I'm so happy I'm gonna get to see you. I haven't seen you since you left the states last year." I pouted while wrapping my hair. I didn't want it to be in the way while I did my makeup. I had already flat-ironed it and laid my baby hairs after I got done showering.
"Sounds like a good time to me. Sung-Jae's not gonna know what hit his ass when he comes pick me up and we get home." She laughed so hard and I did too. Sung-Jae was Cho-Hee's husband. They got married a few months ago. I was sad I didn't get to make the wedding because I was in the UK on business. But I did send a hefty check for a wedding congratulatory gift.
"Don't go getting pregnant just yet. We're supposed to do that together." I warned her. We normally did everything together. We got our period on the same day. We were born two days apart, me being older. We had our first kisses on the same day. It was a little funny so we made a pact that when the time was right for motherhood, we'd do it together.
"I don't know if I'll be able to keep that promise. The way we stay tangled in the sheets..." her words trail off, making me look up at her in disgust. I watched as she looked dazed before she started shuddering like she was having an orgasm just thinking about sex with her husband.
"Hoe, you're disgusting. Get off my phone. Over there shaking like you having a seizure." I shook my head. Poor Sung-Jae, I bet my last dollar that Cho-Hee initiates sex 95% of the time.
"Don't be mad I got some dick to hop on tonight and you don't." She stuck her tongue out and wagged it around like a child would.
I shrugged. "I do have a dick to bounce on tonight and tomorrow thank you very much!"
"You gone give up the goods to somebody? Who? Shownu?" Cho-Hee sat up in her chair.
"Psshhhh! I'll be lucky if I do! That man don't pay me no damn attention. He be playing around cause I play around with him. He don't want me for real."
