Chapter 9: Party(part 1)

After a while of the boys tinkering and gathering some things together, we made our way to the party. On the way there we saw Sarah up ahead.

"Hey, Benny, its Sarah. Let's give her a lift?" Ethan asked as he started to roll his window down. Benny shrugged and starting slowing down. "Excuse me miss, but, uh, can you tell us where the vampire party's at?"

"That was lame." I rolled my eyes from my spot in the back seat. Benny snorted and looked out his window when Ethan looked over at him.

"Oka, I'm acting crazy because I got bit. What's your excuse?" Sarah crossed her arms making a face at Ethan. Ethan shrugged and Sarah got in. "you know, I should just tell you guys to go home where its safe but I have the feeling you wouldn't listen to me. Again."

"there's no point trying to get these two to listen. They never listen to anyone. No matter how hard I've tried. It's useless."

"Hey! We listen, just. You know, when we want to."

"Which is like never, E!" Ethan rolled his eyes and shook his head.

"You are overreacting. We listen. Trust me." I wacked benny on the arm for the 50th time that night. "Why all the benny hurting tonight? Come on." he started rubbing his arm with the hand that wasn't on the steering wheel. Dropping the conversation, we made our way to Jesses mansion to go save Rory.

Pulling up to the place I dropped my mouth. I gotta say I'm quite impressed. This place looked cool. Kinda gave off some charmed vibes. If it wasn't for the danger and doom, I'd probably try harder to be cool to get invited to parties at this place. But knowing the danger of even being in the town, I'd rather just stay hidden in the nerd shaped shadows. Wonderful place to be. You get ignored and people tend to forget you exist, which is helpful if you are trying to get information about something or someone. But back at the issue at hand. Benny parked the car, coming to a decently abrupt halt if I do say so myself. And looking at Ethan, who now sat in the back with me, he agreed. Sarah got out of the car and closed the door.

"Okay, you guys stay in the car. Got it?" she said leaning again the open window. The boys looked at each other then back at Sarah, looking like they might argue I nudged Ethan to the side a bit so I could see Sarah a little clearer.

"Got it, don't worry. I'll do my best to make sure these idiots stay right here." I smirked back at the boys.

"Uh, no."

"No way! It's dangerous in there, Sarah. You need us as backup. You could get hurt." Ethan said looking at me annoyed and then back at Sarah, concern all over his face.

"You forget Ethan. Us? Squishy vulnerable humans. Them? Tough vampires hungry for our blood. The thing keeping us alive and human. Her? In-between. But they wouldn't hurt her straight out. Not if what I've gathered is right. Jesse wants you to join them, right? So, if he thinks you are on their side, you are safe. Right?" Sarah nodded at me and looked back at the boys.

"Shes got a point. I'm safe as long as Jesse thinks I'm even considering joining him. So, I can use that to my advantage. I swear I'll be fine. So just stay here and I'll be back soon with erica and your friend. Okay?"

"I don't know, I just think that we- "Sarah hissed at the boys making all of us jump back a bit in slight fear. While the boys cowered a little in their seats, I just sat back grinning. That was actually kind of cool, not going to lie.

"You know, I actually wanted to stay in the car so you know, that works for me. Aha.." benny stated while patting the steering wheel and laughing nervously.

"Go on Sarah, I got the dorks." she nodded and started up to the building. Once she was through the gate I turned to the boys. "Give her a couple more minutes and then head in. At least try not to be seen. I'll stay here, watch the car. I'm not the most, uh, sneaky person so I'll just get us caught." Ethan looked at me and nodded.
