I'm at my mother's house, doing Royce's hair, it's still a trip that he's 14. But he's still my baby boy.
"Royce be still," I chucked as I twisted his hair a bit. "It feels weird, ma." He complains as he leans his head forward. "I'm almost finished." I say huffing.
"Now who does that remind you of?" My mother asked as she walked down stairs, with her cane in her hand. "Me?" I asked as I did the finishing touches on his hair.
"Mhm," My mama nod her. "Mom was that bad?" Royce asked confused.
"Child, your mama would always complained, cried and cried every time she gets her hair done." My mother said, Royce was snickering.
"Hey, ain't my fault I'm tender headed." I furrowed my brows, finished Royce's hair. "And a cry baby too?" My mother adds.
"Mama," I sighed heavily, putting the hair stuff up.
"Where you headed, baby?" My mama asked Royce as he puts on his sweater. "Gonna go hang out with Krissi at her place for a bit." He answered.
"How is she? I haven't seen her in a while," I asked as I sat beside my mother. "She fine, I guess. She don't talk much anymore, but at least she wanted to hang out so that's cool." He shrugged as he went over to the door.
"You got your stuff?" I asked as I walked him over to the driver that was picking him up to take him to Whitney's place.
"Yea, got my phone and everything," I pulled him in a hug. "Have fun, baby. Tell Krissi I said hi." I kissed his cheek. "Aight, mama." He walked over to the car.
"I love you." I waved at him. "I love you too." Royce says, before climbing inside and closing the door, the driver pulled out and I walked back in the house to get ready for Bobby's performance tonight.
As I went to grab my jacket, I see my mom facing me with a smile. "What?" I asked as I faced her through the small mirror.
"Nothing, just it's crazy that my baby has a baby, all grown up," My mother says as she sighs.
I turned to face her. "Ma, I'm still your baby, ain't nothing going to change that," I went up and held her hands. She gave me a beautiful smile.
'I'll always love you, mama
You're my favorite girl
I'll always love you, mama
You brought me in his world'
I sang softly and gave her a tight hug. "I'ma always sing that song cause it's true." She sighs and laughs, I dried her tears and raised my brows. "Dry the tears, mama. I'm always your crybaby," I joked."That you is," She shakes her head and walks over to the couch and turns on the TV.
"You still love me," I went to the door and put on my jacket. "Love you, mama." I walked out the door.

As Bobby was performing 'Roni', I was backstage in the dressing room with Tommy. "You know the house band here is really good," I spoke up. Tommy didn't answer, only to be on his phone."I think he's gonna be happy, and if you have any names you want me to add to the guest list..." Tommy faced me raising his brow. I sighed and sat up straight.
"Okay, what's with the cold shoulder?" I questioned.
"I book all his shows," Tommy responds. "'Cause I'm his manager."
I looked at him puzzled. "So, Bobby never talked to you?"
I rolled my eyes and went to shut the dressing room door. "Talk to me about what?" Tommy asks.
"Okay, Bobby asked me to be his manager," I told him as I took a seat on the chair in front of him. Tommy sipped his glass.
"He felt like he needed a change," I say as I crossed my legs.
