Aleksa Jones paced back and forth inside the royal suite, impatiently waiting for news about her daughter and son-in-law. She noticed that her leg, completely healed, left no scar. Also noting, that her other nagging medical ailments, were no longer an issue. "Bob, where are they?" she asked. "When are we going to know if they're alright?"

"They're both alive," Ninotchka answered. "The captain told us this herself."

"Yes, re-gen... I mean, surgery works a little differently here."

"Surgery?" Aleksa mocked. "Does surgery here allow for one's mangled leg to repair itself in only two hours?"

Bob thought about how to answer, then simply said, "Yes." The door slid open, and framed within, was Caine holding Jupiter in his arms.

Aleksa exhaled at seeing her daughter. "Jupiter!"

"Mama," she said as Caine walked into the room. He placed Jupiter back on her feet, and she held on to him, her nervous system still needing to catch up.

Aleksa happily hugged her daughter, only to sense Jupiter's flattened tummy. "So it's true, you're no longer—" Jupiter burst into tears—inconsolable. "My poor girl. Please, come sit over here." Aleksa gestured towards the living room and moved to make themselves comfortable on the couch.

"Physically, I'm fine," Jupiter said, "but, they got our baby."

"This is a horrible thing to have happen."

"Who did this?" Ninotchka asked. "Who would possibly want to attack us?"

"Caine and I are under planetary house arrest," Jupiter explained, a tear rolling down her face. "We've only served six months of that time. I thought the whole point of having a planetary barrier, is so we can't leave. I assumed it also meant, no one could get to us either."

"Normally it does," Caine chimed in, adding, "There aren't a lot of people who can pull off something so brazen, and certainly not a tacky little group like the Devil's Ring."

"Who?" Aleksa looked at Bob for clarification.

"They are a dangerous dissident group," Bob explained, "hell-bent on bringing down the authority of the Council." He turned to his boss. "Sir, is there evidence, showing that the Devil's Ring is behind this?"

"Yes. The Aegis investigation team and Lady Kalique's people have discovered proof, this attack was carried out by them."

"How did the Devil's Ring, get past a Council Ordered Defense Grid?"

"How indeed?" He looked in Bob's direction.

"I see. Lady Jupiter, you must be exhausted after a full 24 hours in the medi-bay."

"Yes," Jupiter wept. "One minute, I'm a happy mother-to-be, and the next, I'm shot by terrorists. We tried to get down to the base, but the door was jammed. How did the three of you escape the fire and make it into the shuttle?"

"We climbed out of the kitchen window," Ninotchka explained, sitting beside her niece. "Once we pulled Bob away from that weird magnet, he stood in the kitchen sink and tore the window out of its frame. Outside, we crab-walked our way to the shuttle."

"So, they concentrated their attack solely on the two of us."

"And the moment you both made it into the shuttle," Ninotchka concluded, "they cut it in half." Caine clenched his jaw in a silent rage.

Noting his boss's reaction, Bob strategically asked, "Are you hungry, your majesty?"

"Yes, you need to eat," Aleksa insisted, rising to her feet. "I'll handle this, Bob. She is my daughter."
