Just One Trip, Just One Direction

To sum everything up, I am Ruthie, 18 years of age, and I love giraffes!! I just graduated from high school, and my friends and I are taking our senior trip together! We decided to go to Florida, because we can't afford to go to London. Right now we are packing and spending every moment with our families we can, cause we will be gone for 2 months!! Oh well my friends are Morgan, Kennedy, Hannah, Mercedes, and Finn. Yes I know one guy and five girls sounds bad, but we have all been friends since jr. high, well Finn and I have been since birth.

"Ruthie are you done packing yet?" Ugh, my mom has been trying to get me to stay and not go on this trip, but believe it or not we have been planing this trip since 8th grade. "Yes mom I'm done packing!!" I take my 2 suitcases full of clothes down first, then my duffle bag of shoes, next I grab my duffle bag with my hair care products and makeup in it, and finally I grab my purse. "I am ready to go!!" I tell her. "Well we will see you when you get back and don't forget to call!" "Mom, I'm not going away forever, just for 2 months, i'll be fine. Finn will look after me! No need to worry!" "Okay, I love you!" "I love you too!" I tell her and then head out the door to the van where everyone else is waiting.

"Think you have enough bags there Ruthie?!" Finn says "Oh shut up and help me load them into car!" After we get all my bags into the car we set off on our journey to Florida!

After 6 hours in a car we are finally in West Virginia, 2 more hours and we will be in Virginia! Right now our trip is so far, so good! Mercedes has slept the whole time in the very back seat! Morgan, Kennedy, and Hannah are in the middle of watching Finding Nemo, Finn is driving and I am in the passenger seat talking to Finn. We just stopped at a rest stop so we can all get out, stretch, pee and whatever else we need to do.

"Okay someone is going to have to get Mercedes up and I'm not doing it." I tell them. "Well I have pee, so I'm out" Finn says and then takes off running toward the bathrooms "Umm Not It!" Hannah says and goes to the bathroom. "Well I got her up this morning." Morgan says "Ugh that leaves me!!" Kennedy states. Oh I am watching this because when it comes to Mercedes she is hard to get up and she can be mean when she gets up. Lets see what Kennedy can do!

"Mercedes get up." Kennedy says lightly shaking her. "Mercedes if you don't get up I'm gonna pour water on you!" "MERCEDES GET YOUR LAZY BUTT UP!!!!" Kennedy is now screaming at this point and people are starting to stare! Kennedy gets out of the car, takes a plastic cup and fills it up with water, then gets back into the car and pours it Mercedes! "OH MY GOSH WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?!ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TELL ME TO GET UP AND I'LL BE UP! YOU DON'T HAVE TO POUR FREAKING WATER ON ME!!!" Mercedes screams at the top of lungs. then gets out her hair all wet and goes to the bathroom.

"Nice!" I tell Kennedy giving her a high five. "Thanks, now can you get me a paper towel so I can dry off this seat." "Sure." I say and then get out of the car. I walk into the bathroom, where Morgan is washing her hands, Hannah is reapplying makeup, and Mercedes is drying her hair underneath the hand dryer thingy. I grab a hand full of paper towels and walk out. As soon as I walk out I run into Finn who just came out of the men's room. "Man I had to take a dump and let me tell you it wasn't pretty" he states as we are walking back to the car."Oh gross, you didn't have to tell me!" I tell him.

We got back to car and I give Kennedy the paper towels and then sit on the sidewalk. "So who is driving now, cause I hate driving!" Finn say as soon as the others get back. "I'll drive!" Morgan says. "Okay well then I get the back cause I'm really tired!" Finn says while yawning. "Well I want middle so I can continue watching the movie." Kennedy says. "Well I'll sit up front with Morgan so she doesn't get lost and kill us all!" I say. See two years ago we went to the Easton mall and Morgan drove in four lanes of traffic and was getting over, cutting another guy off and then she was in a semi's blind spot. Well the semi was getting over too, so Morgan was in the middle of passing him and had a to slam on her brakes! 4 seconds later we would have been dead or seriously injured.

We are now North Carolina and mom has called four times to see if we are okay. Gosh, she worries to much!! "One Direction's Louis Tomlinson broke up with his girlfriend Eleanor Calder last night after he found her making out with model Eddie Tucker!" The lady on the radio giving us the 411. "Oh my gosh! No way! I did not see that coming!!" Morgan said! "One Direction is now off grid, they are on a vacation for who knows how long!!" My friends are big time directioners!! "They're probably at the Virgins Islands!!" Kennedy states! Morgan can't stand Taylor Swift at all, and so when Harry and her were dating she was upset! I think Louis is hot, but other than that I see them as normal people with a special talent.

"Can we stop talking about those gay boys and listen to something at least half way decent!" Finn hates One Direction with a passion!!!

"Go back to sleep!" Kennedy tells him.

"It's kinda hard when you're being flung around back here!"

"Do you want to drive cause that's not a problem with me!" Morgan says.

"Nah I'm good!"

"That's what I thought!"

5 hours later and I'm driving! We decided just to take turns driving and sleeping, so we wouldn't have to stop anywhere. It's really boring, Hannah was awake with me but then she kinda passed out about an hour ago! I don't mind, I've had 4 cups of coffee and 3 donuts, so I'm good! Plus we are almost to my uncle's beach house, well my great uncle!! He is letting us stay there, it's really nice and its on a private beach that is 2 acres! There is another beach house with 2 more acres that is private, but he doesn't own it, some company does!

I'm really glad that Eleanor and Louis broke up, not that I have a chance, but I didn't like her. There was just something weird about her!

We are finally in Florida and just 2 more hours until we get to the beach!!

"What time is it?" I heard Finn's quiet sleepy voice from the back of the van.

"It's 1:35 a.m." Wow I didn't know it was that late!

"Do you want to me drive? I know where we are going and you look really tired!"

"Yeah, thanks." I pulled over at the gas station, filled the van up, and got in the back. Last thing I remember is Finn pulling away and me passing out!

<Finns POV>

I felt bad for letting Ruthie drive all that way, she probably drove for 5 hours! Why didn't she wake me up? Gosh sometimes I don't understand her! I remember when we were little and her mom would watch me, I would fall asleep on her futon and she would stick my hand in a bowl of water so I would pee my pants! It was mean and kinda funny cause I would end up wearing her sweatpants and her sweatpants are her pride and joy, she can't live without them!

This one time she was staying at my house in like 2nd grade and I threw mud all over her favorite baggy sweats and when were sleeping she got up in the middle of the night and shaved off my quiff with moms razor, and when we woke up my own mother laughed about it!

Ruthie and I have been through think and thin together, I would do anything for her!

I pull up at her uncle's beach house and wake the others up, we'll get the bags in the morning.
