Y/n, the one who fell through the Professor Xavier's roof a week ago. Gushing blood and two sprouting antlers. The one who was determined to leave the first second they could, the one who ignored everyone else. Who ignored the head-over-heels silver speedster, in fear of what had happened before.

Walking off a stab wound wasn't enough, how you got it cut deeper. But they didn't need to know that. They just needed to know you were leaving. They didn't need to know you were a time-traveling- time speeding- runaway. They did know most of those things now. Y/n spent all their days zooming through Hanks's workshop to find a way out.

Two lights clicked on, showing a hat-wearing time-traveler at work. "You're still here? When did you leave last night?" Hank barges in, checking his tablet for the security cameras. "Have they even stepped foot outside of this cave?" Raven watches your blur work on some little gizmo. "No- no they haven't. All night. All last week- and the week before that. Sometimes I think it'd been better off if they had a few more weeks of recovery." Hank shows her the footage.

"Alright- this is enough. Hasn't Charles done something?" Raven crosses her arms. "Not much you can do. Anyone can do. I mean they can warp time. We have no idea what they can do- where they came from- They ignore everything we say."
"Since Charles isn't here, I'll take this one." She steps up, walking up to the speedster's messy desk.

"Hey. Enough. Let's take a break. Now."
As if she said nothing, you kept your hands busy at work. "Didn't wanna have to do this. Last chance speedy."
Y/n stops, before pulling their eyelid down and blowing a raspberry. And back to work after that. "Well, that's the most we've gotten. That's real progress."
"Not enough."
Raven's hand flies to the nearest hammer and raises it above the desk.

Y/n catches it, before rewinding it to dust. you pull up your metal mask. "So- for someone with all the time I really just don't want to waste any right now. Even for the legend that is Mystique- who saved all mutant lives- and- uh- sorry. Uh, thank you." You nod, and pull the mask down to work again.

"So you can hear me. Come with us, Now. If I'm really this- savior you'll do it." You pause again. "Look- Look- Look- I idol you in every way possible but- I really gotta bounce soon- now- preferable for now. I don't belong here- if I stay here I can't be out there- doing time stuff- you know?" "No. If you really have gone everywhere in history then you should know this is exactly where you belong." Raven finds your eyes.

You look away the moment it happens. "For a time traveler, you really don't know anything. Come with me. Isn't up for debate." You look to your superior.
You couldn't do this again, feel what you felt again. But this was Mystique. The one who shaped the world for people like you. The one you spent half your life trying to prevent from destroying the world on a slippery slope.

"You're totally taking advantage of my opinion of you- err- fuck!" You throw your mask down in defeat and wipe your bloody nose. You speed off and return in clean clothes. "Chop chop, roll out."  You flick your fingers, She smiles.

You stop at the door.
Are you really gonna do this again? It could happen again. You're just going to let it happen again?
You almost died.
"You're still coming right?"
Raven looks at your frozen form. "Hank will watch your tech. Won't you Hank?" The man who has been silently watching quickly nods, "Uh- Of course! Go have fun."
With that, you step through.

You held your breath, walking through the now quiet hall. Whispers emitted through the room, of course, you were the one who was thrown into their school and disappeared just as fast in their professor's lab.
You watch Raven stop, calling out a few names. "Been meaning to ask, where are your antlers? You cut them off?" You visibly paled. Yes you did, it didn't matter because every time you time traveled they grew just as strong and red. Hats were okay, they were just hiding the little stumps left behind- hats were cute anyway.
