Phil's P.O.V

I wonder how obvious it would be to Norman if I went back to see that midget Mary again... He never seems to miss a trick. I think he bought my story about only going to take the load off him, he is overworked, but that wasn't my reason. He seemed disappointed though that I helped him with his work... Maybe he likes her... I shook that thought away. It wasn't possible, and I know him too well, he would have spoke to me about it. I sat for a second, debating my options. One: I pay a visit to Mary, have a little fun myself; Two: I stick to my own duties and ignore Mary; Three: I have a word with Norman about Mary. I kinda like the first option. My body decided for me. On their own accord, they started moving towards the west wing of the asylum. Mary's Wing. My long legs making quick work of it, I am almost there now, I was getting more excited... until I bumped into someone I wished I hadn't. A shadowy figure stepping out of the very cell I was heading for. Damn. Norman was early. I know that there is no way of turning back now, as he has seen me. My short blond hair is slicked back, off my face, so I can see exactly his facial expressions without having to squint through hair. I am quite a bit taller Norman, so I should be able to stand up to him if it turns nasty, but it shouldn't, fingers crossed. My blue eyes were piercing, boring into his, and my mouth formed an evil smile. I'm not sure why, but confidence always helps in battle I heard. And that's when he charged.

Norman P.O.V

I signed in early this morning, scared of what Phil might do if he got there before I did. I rushed past all the other cells, forcing breakfast through their holes quickly, my desperation to see Mary Alice getting more and more, worry seeping through any holes the desperation left behind. What if I took too long? What if Phil got there first? What if he damages her? Should I take her away? Should I hurt Phil? I almost growled outloud at these questions. It took all my strength not to run at the cell at inhuman speed. At an ordinary pace, I strode towards her cell, almost there, 10 steps, 9 steps, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, so close, 2, 1, there! I made myself slowly open the door, slowly step in, with my back to Mary. Then I turned and started walking towards her, I noticed she was hunched up, fear showing in her eyes. Phil had got to her. I reached out towards her, when it hit me. She couldn't tell who I was. Her human eyes hadn't adjusted to the light yet. I carried on reaching out until I made contact with her hunched up, tensed up body. She instantly relaxed.

"Norman" She sighed contently. She was happy to see me. Our faces both lit up at the same time. I love how happy she is to see me. How her face melts when our eyes connect. I wish she was my daughter. So I could show her what love is, teach her right from wrong, protect her from evil. But I am not. And I can never be a father. I pulled her into a hug, and she hugged back.

"Here is your breakfast my love, eat it well." I said to Mary as she looked up, grabbed the food and munched it down in record time. Man she could eat fast! Almost as soon as I gave her the bowl, it was gone. It brought a smile to my face. Before she could hand me the licked, almost sparkling bowl back, her eyes glazed over, and the bowl hit the floor with a large clang. I ignored it as I lead Mary over to her bed, held her hand, supported her ready to know the vision when she finished it.

I slowly felt the warmth spread through her fingers, so i knew she was coming back to the present time.

"Mary?" I asked... No answer. "Mary honey? Mary Alice?!" No answer, but she was stirring. I took this as a good sign. "Mary honey? Can you hear me?" I was getting desperate now.

"Norman? Huh? Aw Crap." She replied finally, groggily as if awaking from a long sleep.

"Mary, are you okay?" It had never taken this long for her to recover from her visions, something must be wrong.

"Hmmm? Yeah..." Something was wrong.

"Mary." I stated, gaining her attention, "Tell me what you saw." It wasn't a question. And she knew that. Her bottom lip started quivering, then she burst into tears. Crap. Bugger. What am I going to do?! I placed my freezing, rock hard arm across her already cold body. "Mary, Please tell me." I pleaded, hoping she saw how troubled I am by this. She sniffed before starting her story.

"At first," She started, and I smiled encouragingly at her, and she sent a watery one back before continuing, "It was an ordinary vision, confusing, someone I didn't know. Which doesn't make sense as it has to relate to me otherwise I won't see it. There was a tall man. With long blond hair. I couldn't see anything else on his body because he had his back to me, studying something in front of him. Obviously I was curious to know more, then he stepped back, and I saw what he was looking at. A signpost. Leading him here. He turned and walked in the direction I was observing from. Then I saw his eyes. They were red, like blood.. Yes a deep blood red colour. He strode off towards the Asylum." She stopped, looking up at me, tears leaking out of her eyes. But what can it mean?! He must be a vampire, no human men have red eyes. But why would Mary have seen it?

"I'm confused Mary... What does it have to do with you?" I asked, genuinely curious.

"He must be coming here, and will end up doing something to... me." Her voice broke on the last word as she looked back at me, looking for answers.

"I must go..." I mumbled, "I will be back, I need to figure this out..." Just before I left I stopped, then glanced back at Mary. "One more thing, What did Phil do to you?" Mary almost fell off her bed.

"H...h...he...w...w....weellll, he hit me, beat me... with my breakfast bowl, and hurt me a lot." She turned away, clearly in pain. Yet I left, on a mission to go and get Phil.

Today, things were working in my favour. Just as I left the cell, I was alerted to footsteps approaching. They faltered, then stopped. It was Phil. I locked up and looked into his eyes. His bright blue eyes pierced into mine, his mouth edged into an evil smile. I lost patience. I ran, at inhuman pace, towards the unsuspecting victim. He was taller, but couldn't take on my immense strength. I slammed him against the rough stone wall, enjoying the crunch as his back collided with it. I put my face up close to his.

"Why did you do it?!" I screamed in his face, he went to cower back, but screamed as he moved his back. His left arm started twitching. Quickly, he brought it up and it collided with my face. It didn't even hurt. I think he broke his hand though. Good. I pulled him up by the scruff of his neck, then slammed him into the wall again. "WHY?! Answer Me!" I shouted in his face again. He locked his mouth indicating that he wouldn't say anything. So I launched him across the corridor and there was a satisfying noise as his body made impact on the wall. He was almost unconscious. So I kicked him hard in the ribs. Another crunch. I don't think I have ever been this angry. I snarled at his unconscious body and pulled lumps of him. First his arms, then his legs, then I decapitated him. That will teach him. I lobbed each part of him out of the window, they flew a good fifty feet. I headed back to the staff room, regretting my actions more and more with every step.
