carl would be okay, for now. she sat on the porch with carls blood on her hands and on her shirt seeing as she would occasionally wipe her hands. she needed fresh air, even if they had gotten the bullet fragments out of him there was still a chance he could die. but he was safe for now.

she liked being alone, well when she could be. when stella wasn't hovering over her, she could hear patricia's cries from inside the house which had broken lillian's heart. the greene family had always been there for her, until the very last moment. tears fell from her eyes as she cried quietly, she liked to be able to hear herself think.

when she woke up the next morning she had been collecting rocks with the group, for otis. she was completely avoiding alex who had decided to join the group in the morning, she could feel his stares on her and she completely hated it. she saw daryl's motorcycle as well as the R.V.

she wasn't livid when she saw her daughter behind daryl on the motorcycle, seeing as stella really only trusted lillian, carl, and daryl. "mom!" stella said while jumping off the back of the motorcycle and barrelling into her mother, seeing as when the group were driving up they walked to the front of the house.

she knew alex was looking at lillian hug her daughter "how old are you?" alex asked stella, making the young girl pull a face "stella, don't answer that." lillian said shortly "how old are you?" alex asked again receiving a glare from lillian and daryl. "don't answer that." lillian said again forcefully.

"how old are you?!" alex yelled "eleven!" stella yelled back making lillian sigh in defeat, alex looked at lillian, she couldn't tell what he was feeling either which worried her more. "she's eleven?" alex said before grabbing lillian's wrist forcefully and dragging her into the house and into his room.

"is she mine?" he asked, lillian didn't know how to answer that, because she was. "or she's your friends, since you know, you let him rape me." she said with a bitter tone in her voice. "i didn't let him do anything! we were drunk." he replied angrily "you watched, you pleasured yourself, that ring a bell?" she said, he couldn't look her in the eyes.

"there's a ninety percent chance she's yours." lillian finally said making him nod "why didn't you tell me?" he asked while sitting on his bed "because, you're a bad person." she said shortly "how? how am i the bad person? you kept my daughter from me!" he yelled while standing up "you beat me, you would force me to have sex with you, you would force me to do drugs, force me to drink. you're toxic, you always have been." she said with tears flowing from her eyes.

"i've changed." he said while grabbing onto her shoulders "people like you can't change." she said sadly "i want you to stay away from her, and me." she said, making his fingers dig into her shoulders. "why? she's my daughter!" he yelled "so? i didn't tell you for a reason." she said calmly, he yelled at her more before completely pushing her into a bookshelf, causing her to hit her head against it.

he froze, looking scared but walked out of his room, she stood up and walked out behind him after a minute "are you okay? i heard a crash." daryl said "yeah i'm fine, it was nothing." she said before the two of them walked with stella to the small funeral that was being held for otis. "blessed be god, fathe of our lord jesus christ. praise be to him for the gift of our brother otis, for his span of years for his abundance of character; otis, who have his life to save a child's, now more than ever, our most precious asset. we thank you, god. for the peace he enjoys in your embrace." hershel said while everyone placed rocks on the rock tower that was being built.

"he died as he lived, in grace. shane, will you speak for otis?" hershel asked "i'm not good at it. i'm sorry." shane said "you were the last one with him. you shared his final moments. please. i need to hear. i need to know his death had meaning." patricia cried.

"okay. we were about done. almost out of ammo. we were down to pistols by then. i was limping. it was bad. ankle all swollen up. 'we've got to save the boy' see, that's what he said. he gave me his backpack. he shoved me ahead. 'run' he said. he said, 'i'll take the rear. ill cover you.' and when i looked back.." shane said, towards the end limping to the rock mound and placing a rock upon it.

"if not for otis, i'd have never made it out alive. and that goes for carl too. it was otis. he saved us both. it any death ever had meaning, it was his." shane said, when he looked at lillian she noticed something glistening in his eyes, maybe it was sadness, but to her it looked like guilt.
