There was a low buzz surrounding the crime scene, police and detectives cutting off the gruesome sight from the innocent eyes of teenagers. Not even the bodies of the burliest policeman could hide the sight of the blood splatter staining the grass though. (Y/n) sighed, lighting a cigarette as he stared up at the roof of the school. There was a chainlink fence, yeah, but really, what was a chainlink fence going to do if a student was really motivated to jump? He sighed again after taking a drag of the cigarette, letting his hand drop against his jeans limply.

"(L/n) - san," one of the officers, Matsumura, started, lifting his hat to wipe at his receding hairline. "See anything that could explain this bloodbath?" The detective surveyed the area, ignoring the body bag being loaded into the ambulance. He shook his head, running a free hand through his hair as he closed his eyes. Just looking at it was giving him a headache, and he was a weak man by no means.

"Looks like a regular suicide to me but ... I don't know how one small first year could produce so much blood." Or produce that much force to cave the entire front of her body inwards. The officer nodded, hands on his hips as he supervised the forensics team starting to mill about.

"Yeah. Looks like something out of an American horror movie." The two men shared a morbid laugh, (Y/n)'s laughter dying as he noticed Matsumura glancing at the cigarette hanging off his chapped lips with a strange want.

"Listen, Matsumura - san, I've heard this isn't the first time something gruesome has happened at this school - "

"Well, no," Matsumura started, his movements starting to get antsy. "It isn't, but it is the first suicide. Everything else has been accidents. Like the kid who fell down those stairs and the third year who was stabbed by a spooky prop during Bon and - " (Y/n) scoffed in disbelief. He'd heard enough.

"Look, Matsumura - san, I just want a chance to investigate this school myself. They wouldn't have called me from Tokyo if I didn't know what I was doing." The older man was stunned silent before his head drooped, letting out an exasperated breath. Young'uns from the city always had some sort of hubris about them. Although there was something weird about this school, surely it was easily explainable and something the police could do nothing about. Like a lazier younger generation or something. But if this (L/n) (Y/n) really wanted to ...

"Fine, (L/n) - san. The station will ask for the school to be shut down for a bit due to investigation. Don't say we didn't do anything to help you here." (Y/n) nodded before heading back to his car, putting his cigarette out in the ashtray he kept in the cupholder of his car. Something fucked up was happening in this school and (Y/n) wanted to know what it was.
