The hidden secrets of the village

a dream

I wasn't one of those people who didn't follow the rules, I lived in a small town and I was known for helping people I was often stopped in my tracks by people who needed a hand whether it be old lady's who wanted help cooking or cleaning or it be some lads who's trousers got ripped while thay were playing sports or working in the pits and wanted them mending because thay couldn't afford new ones I would gladly help with out a penny needed back, on top of that I was also the top of my classes I set a role for those around me and for that I was praised and I loved every minute of it. it was night and I was studying the laws and rules of the town in my room for the assignment we had the next day on how we could help enforce them and I decided to write about the rule about going into the forest surrounded the village I always thought it was weird that you had to provide a good reason like going to the sea to go fishing or to go collect herbs for medicine for the local hospital but you had to provide this to the leaders and thay would pass it on if thay approved to the guardians the wisest and oldest people in the village and if they denied access you couldn't go I had always wondered what was behind the gate and fencing that prevented you from leaving but there had to be a good reason behind it anyway. I finished up my writing and tidied everything up and got ready for bed and then turned off the lights slipping into sweet unconsciousness, it didn't feel long before I sprung up in a sweat and panic I looked to my side to read the clock it read 3:45 am I decided to go down stairs to get a glass of water to calm myself but it would take some time, as the dreem that had woken me up was running through my mind I was out side the village and it was peaceful I met people around my age living in forest and thay said something I couldn't make out about the village but it seemes we couldn't stop long as thay started running at first I wasn't sure why but a second after I heard horses and saw the guards from the gate but they didn't seem to happy to see me and I was taken away and put in a cell and left to starve but there was no way that was real the guards are always so nice wether it be on duty or off so why would thay do that and haw did I get out the village anyway, I made my way back to bed in a haze after finishing my water it took me a while to fall asleep again but I managed to after a while and woke up for school thanks to my dad yelling my name from downstairs I got up and slipped into the bath with my head still filled with questions from the dream I had last night I got out the bath and went back to my room to get dressed for school I put on a simple washed-out durt yellow butten up shirt and over I put a washed-out sage green puffy overall skirt along with my socks and shoos and headed down for breakfast my father was sat at the table reading the newspaper sipping his coffee with his toast on the table with a singular bight took out of it on the other end was a plate with beens, bacon, tomatoes, eggs, sausages, toast with jam on and a glass of orange juice at the side my father spoke "its your birthday In a couple days Christia do you want to do something different and special for your sweet 16th?" I replied "no thank you dad I would just like some books and a little meet up with Lucinda and Brigitta In the cafe again please" he sighed "you do the same thing every year doesn't it get boring" "not really" I replied shoving the toast into my mouth "also" he said moving the paper out of his face "you forgot to brush your hair and bring your homework down stairs to take to school with you" oh shit I finished off what food was left on my plate and scrambled up stairs and grabbed my hairbrush off the side brushing my ginger hair to the side and braded it putting tow silk green ribbons around and tying them in bows to keep my hair I'm place and a grabbed my work from last night placing it carefully in my bag and tossing it over my head so the strap sits on my shoulder and headed down stairs reddy to set off for school
