The Truth?

I was pacing in the living room waiting for him to walk in the door, I was praying he would just walk in I mean it was still his house, really his house. I wasn't sure how today was going to go but I was prepared for anything. I heard the front gate open and then a dog barking, he brought Dodger...it was my week to have him. I heard the door open and I could tell by his face when he walked in he seemed to know what was coming. I smiled kneeling down to Dodger and kissing him as he tried to lick my face.

"Go to you bed bubba." I said and he listened. I stood back up and looked at Chris.

"Hi." I said with a small smile.

"Hi." He said and I sighed.

"Where do you want to talk?" I asked and he groaned.

"You called this talk Eden so you pick. I don't even know why I'm here." Chris said and I sighed. I motioned to the couch and we sat on the opposite ends. I put my hands in my lap and looked at them.

"I think we need to talk about these pictures and what's really going on here." I said and Chris sighed.

"So you are ready to fess up?" Chris asked and I looked at him in shocked.

"What?!" I asked confused.

"You are ready to confess something right?" Chris asked and I shook my head.

"No, I just wanted to talk about us and maybe just letting this go. The pictures get out, they get out.  I just want to be with you. I'm tired of being apart." I said and he sighed.

"We need honesty here Eden." Chris said and I nodded in agreement.

"I know, I think we should just maybe confess if we have done anything to the other in our entire relationship. Just get it all out there." I said and Chris nodded in agreement. "You can go first. Anything you ready to confess?" I asked. Chris looked at me and seemed to be trying to read my face.

"Fine, you really want something. I kissed Tara the other day!" Chris said and I felt like I had been punched in the gut. He could have told me he kissed anyone else but her and I wouldn't have cared. This hurt.

"You what?" I asked

"Yeah she came over to Ma's the other day and while we were talking she mentioned since you and I weren't together anymore maybe I should detach myself from your drama and date her. I kissed her, made out a little." Chris said and I felt tears fill my eyes as I looked at my hands.

"Right, well okay then." I said and he looked at me.

"Your turn." Chris said to me and I sighed.

"Okay well remember around Christmas time when we thought I was pregnant?" I asked and Chris nodded. "Well I'm happy it came back negative. I didn't want to have kids with you at that moment. You weren't even sure you wanted to be serious about us at that point in time." I said and Chris half nodded. I could tell I cut him hard but I didn't think anything of it.

"Anything else?" Chris asked and I shook my head.

"None that I can think of." I said and he sighed.

"I really wish you would just tell the truth!" Chris yelled at me standing up.

"What truth Chris?!" I asked.

"You know what truth!" Chris yelled.

"Okay let's play the truth game! Why don't you just tell me why you did it!" I yelled.

"Did what?! Kiss Tara?!" Chris asked and I huffed a laughed.

"Fuck no! I don't care about that whore! You want to be with the woman who has tried to get in your pants for the past 10 years go ahead! Tell me why you took the pictures!" I yelled out.

"What?!" Chris asked shocked.

"Why Chris?! You haven't cared about them being gone since they have been taking because you know that Chris Evans America's Captain would never be bashed in the news just the slut of a model he is engaged to!" I yelled and he just hung his head and huffed a laugh.

"You would think it was me." Chris said.

"I would! Chris you know this would ruin me and you obviously want to be with Tara now so instead of just manning up and having the balls to break up with me you took the pictures and have every intention of putting them out there. Hell you could even blur out your face and say I was cheating on you. Bet you didn't think of that storyline did you?!" I asked.

"I didn't but now I'm thinking it's an awesome idea. Thanks for the idea Eden." Chris said. I pulled the engagement ring from my pocket and walked it over to place it in his hand and then I smacked him across the face.

"Get out." I said he smiled evilly at me.

"My house sweetheart." Chris said.

"I will be out in a week." I said and he nodded.

"Have a good last week of your life while you still can." Chris said and walked out. My knees went weak and I feel to the floor and just started crying.
