Eruhaben guided the group towards the gate Cale passed through the other day. They were silently moving until they reached their destination. As for Cale, he was tied up and floating with the woman at the inn.
Eruhaben and Raon tied him up cause they didn't know and didn't want Cale to cause trouble.
As Eruhaben mentioned before, the gate has a magic circle and was made using black magic.
The word 'black magic' gives Cale shivers down his spine because, as a reader of fantasy novels, he knows what those users of black magic can do.
(AUTHOR: I'm not sure if the black mage in the novel uses black magic cause I clearly forgot about most of the details, I read the novel ages ago! But if it did, do pardon me😅)
'Maybe they can curse someone.'
Cale flinch at this thought.
They reached their destination and stopped in front of it.
"Ugh!"
Suddenly they heard a groan from behind, and they saw the assassins and Choi Han grabbing their heads; This includes Ron and Beacrox, but they were only frowning.
Their resistance is impressive.
On the other hand, Cale only looks at them with shock in his eyes cause, except for Rosalyn, who has resistance because of her great mana, Cale is also an ordinary human, but it seems that he is not affected by the spell.
'Is it because I have Fox blood?'
The thought is enough to make Cale's lips slowly go up.
"Looks like you guys need to stay here."
Eruhaben demanded.
Choi Han's eyes wide opened, and he jerked his head to look at Eruhaben and then at Cale.
He slowly opened his mouth but was interrupted by none other than Cale.
"I agree; we don't know what will happen. Choi Han, you stay here and ensure everyone stays at their post."
Cale looked dead serious when he said this.
Choi Han has no other choice but to nod his head. He wants to stay with Cale so he can protect him anytime, and Cale knows this.
Cale remembered the time when the golems at the Maple Tower appeared and the black despair that was supplying them.
Raon told him that Choi Han said that he felt he wanted to devour them so that he could perfect his darkness, though Choi Han had already resisted it.
But black magic and black despair are different.
'We don't know what those Fox bastards are gonna do to Choi Han, and it is better for him to stay here also cause no one will know what will happen to the assassins.'
"Young master, let us go with you."
"No"
Ron's eyes wide opened in shock because of Cale's direct answer to his question.
"The two of you stay here as well, and I don't want that scene to happen again."
Cale remembered by the time when the party went to take the other earth power; Blood-drenched rock. It was when Beacrox got bewildered and almost endangered the kittens.
Beacrox lowered his head as he remembered that scene. He also does not want that to happen and endanger the kids again.
Cale nodded at the sight of Beacrox lowering his head because it meant that he understood Cale's intention.
The assassins, the father-son duo, and Choi Han stayed behind while the rest of the group, Eruhaben, Rosalyn, Rasheel, the three children, and Cale, continued.
Eruhaben reached out his hand and grabbed the woman. The gate opened, and Eruhaben then glared at Cale for not telling him that the woman was a fox. He has suspicions but can't believe it is true.
Cale averted his eyes to the side to avoid Eruhaben's glare.
"Explain what happened."
Eruhaben has no choice but to demand Cale for an explanation as they head up.
Cale started the day after they arrived at the village. They split into groups to gather information quickly; Cale with Raon and the kitten with Choi Han.
As they gathered information all day, well, they also went on strolling from time to time because of the kids; they sensed that someone was following them.
They met up at the inn entrance and were about to head inside when suddenly, the woman who was trying to flirt with Cale popped up behind Cale and hugged him.
But the moment she does, she is smacked by Choi Han, using all of his strength, and knocks her unconscious.
Of course, Cale panicked and commanded them to move her. When they found an alley with no people, they placed her down.
Cale scolded Choi Han for attacking the woman, but when he was in the middle of lecturing Choi Han, Raon called him out and pointed to the woman.
He said that there was something weird with this woman. He channeled his mana and swirled it directly to the woman. Her ears and tail slowly appeared above her head and hips, where the tail was supposed to be.
Cale then realized that she was a fox but not sure if she was related to the tribe; maybe she was.
So the next day, he decided to bring her with him and ask Raon to conceal her appearance again, though doing that received a scolding from Eruhaben.
Eruhaben sighed at Cale before shaking his head sideways.
"What a coincidence..." He mumbled.
After Cale stopped talking, they continued their way without a sound coming out of their mouths.
Rustle-
They ignored any noises coming from their surroundings, assuming they were nothing.
Rustle-
They only looked forward...
Rustle-
Rustling is all they heard, and they continued their way.
Rustle-
Silence surrounded them. And that's when they noticed something was weird.
Cale was the first one to notice, followed by Rosalyn. Cale whispered to Rosalyn if she could remove the binds, and she did without hesitation. Cale landed on the ground, slowly looking around while following the others behind.
He grabbed Raon, who almost screamed but immediately covered his mouth and motioned his fingers, signaling him to shut up.
Raon shut his mouth up because Cale looked more deadly serious than before. He also started preparing some spells so that he could cast them when something happened.
Crack-
That noise made the party stop moving. They looked around them and noticed some shadows popping out.
All of them frowned because it took them too late to realize.
"FVCK..."
When Cale swored openly, they were already surrounded by a bunch of foxes with bows and swords.

Well, good day, everyone! I am so sorry for not updating for a while, I have no excuses this time, but one thing, I don't know what to add to this story. I also thought of abandoning this story but decided to continue it instead.
I will post two chapters, this one at this time while the other one might be around 12 or 1 am; I will sacrifice my bedtime also, there is no class tomorrow, so I'm safe😅😅
