A/N: And I'm back with a new Jang Jaeyoung/Chu Sangwoo story! Please be aware, sad story ahead! But don't worry, there's always fluff at the end o(*^▽^*)o
Jang Jaeyoung was currently sitting on the floor, his head resting on his knees. He hadn't been able to exchange at least one word with Chu Sangwoo for the whole afternoon and it was seriously getting to him.
Jaeyoung was the type of person who would normally scream in the middle of the corridor to get the attention of someone, but not when it came to Sangwoo. Sangwoo was calm and collected, he hated bringing attention upon himself without a reason, it's to say never.
Sangwoo wasn't fond of PDA nor did he like when Jaeyoung would try and embarrass him in public just for the fun to see his boyfriend getting shy. Or at least, that's what Jaeyoung thought. He thought Sangwoo was always forcing himself to accept Jaeyoung's strange antics and was really grateful for this, but at the same time, he felt bad for his boyfriend.
So, today, Jaeyoung had tried to stop himself from throwing a huge tantrum when his boyfriend of almost one year got dragged away from him five times in total before he could even say more than "hi" or "I'm sorry". And Jaeyoung hated it.
Because he respects and loves his boyfriend dearly, Jaeyoung had taken it upon himself to cheer for Sangwoo every time the boy tried to socialize with other people. So, when Sangwoo didn't have time for him because he was busy with friends, Jaeyoung was genuinely happy. As long as his boyfriend was back before 8 so that they could eat and cuddle together, there was nothing he could be mad at. But this had never happened before.
For the fifth time today, a boy, way taller than Sangwoo and almost as tall as Jaeyoung, had dragged his boyfriend through the hallways, ignoring completely Jaeyoung who had tried his best to stay calm and not overthink things.
But here he was, sitting in front of Sangwoo's last classroom for the day, waiting impatiently for his boyfriend to get out so that they could go home together and he could finally get back to all the cuddles and kisses he had missed today.
Jaeyoung tried not to think too much of it, but he could only remember how the other man's hand was holding tightly on to Sangwoo's and how his boyfriend hadn't said a thing at all despite hating physical proximity.
Sangwoo was always one to tell people off when he didn't like something, even Jaeyoung. He had little to no filter and wouldn't even feel ashamed about embarrassing other people, as long as his message was clearly conveyed. It had happened more than once before. Like when he had told Jaeyoung he wasn't fond of the feeling of their teeth knocking together when they kissed. Or how Jaeyoung's perfume he had recently bought during sales smelt like his grandmother's perfume. Or even when he had told a girl off when she was shamelessly flirting with Jaeyoung even though they were on a date. This day, he had told her that her actions were very inappropriate and that she should reflect more on herself and analyze the situations better because if she had done it, she would have realized they were on a date and Jaeyoung wasn't interested. This had earned him a slap across the face and Jaeyoung almost got in a fight with the girl if it wasn't for Sangwoo telling him it wasn't worth it.
All in all, there was no reason for Sangwoo to let another boy hold his hand, except if he wasn't against it. And there, that what was making Jaeyoung anxious. He had never been in a situation where Sangwoo may be interested in another boy or any other human being for that matter. So, he didn't know how to react. Sure, it was bound to happen someday, but he never thought it through before, always pushing this idea to the back of his head and forgetting about it the moment Sangwoo would smile at him.
But now, Jaeyoung couldn't just forget about Sangwoo holding hand with someone else. About Sangwoo leaving him behind to go talk with another boy Jaeyoung didn't even know about. Maybe he was overthinking it because he was attention and touch deprived, heck, he was Sangwoo deprived. Ever since their French class, they hadn't exchanged a word or more than a glance. Jaeyoung was used to clinging onto his boyfriend every chance he gets, but here he was, sitting alone in an empty corridor, waiting like a lost puppy for his owner's return. He felt pathetic. Pathetic for being jealous over something that wasn't even that important. People have friends. People spend time with their friends. People aren't glued to their boyfriend or entitled to only speak to them of the rest of their lives. But Sangwoo wasn't anyone. Sangwoo was Sangwoo. And Sangwoo was Jaeyoung's. And here he was again with that stupid jealousy...
Before he could register it, the bell was ringing and students were flooding out of the classroom. Jaeyoung immediately stood up, using his height to look upon students' head to try and spot his boyfriend. But Sangwoo was nowhere to be found. Reluctantly, he stopped a random student in the crowd.
"Have you seen Chu Sangwoo? He is small and cute and always wears a cap and-"
"Yeah, I know who that is. He was absent, I saw him getting away with Soyeon before class started..."
"Soyeon?"
"Yeah, a boy from our class, he seemed pretty close to Sangwoo all day. He is tall and has black hair and he was wearing a red shirt today!"
The girl exclaimed, looking around to see if she could spot them. Jaeyoung thanked her and backed away, getting in a small corridor where there was no one. He tried to register everything. Tried not to let the words sink in too much. He really tried his best not to cry right there and now. This was stupid. His boyfriend had went to spend time with a friend, once, only once and he was already on the verge of a mental break down. Jaeyoung blinked rapidly and forcefully, trying to stop the tears from falling. He sniffled loudly and immediately took his phone out. He had to talk with Sangwoo, had to make sure the boy was okay. Had to hear his voice. If Sangwoo could tell him anything that sounded like he was okay, then Jaeyoung would feel better. Maybe. Jaeyoung quickly dialed the number and the contact "My baby <3" appeared on his phone as he heard it ringing. Jaeyoung waited, and waited, until he was redirected to the voice mail. He left a message, quickly asking Sangwoo to call him back. He tried his best to sound calm, not wanting to alarm Sangwoo or appear too much as a simp, even if he was. After two more minutes had passed, he called again. And again. He left a dozen of messages. He knew something was definitely wrong. Sangwoo never declined calls except if he was angry. He wasn't one to run away from his problems, if he was angry against Jaeyoung, he was more likely to be bold enough to tell him face to face to fuck off. But Sangwoo looked genuinely sorry when Jaeyoung saw him for the last time. So, something was definitely wrong.
Jaeyoung ran to Sangwoo's condo, thinking maybe the younger was already waiting for him over there. But the appartement was empty and everything was exactly as it was when they had left this morning. So, Jaeyoung ran to the library, to the coffee shop, to the cafeteria. He basically ran through the whole school searching for his boyfriend, but Sangwoo was nowhere to be found. It was now almost 8, so it had been two hours and Sangwoo was still missing. Jaeyoung tried to call him once again, only to hear a ringing coming from a room next to him. He got closer, thinking maybe it was just a coincidence, but it was a little bit too much to just be a coincidence. By the window on the door, Jaeyoung saw a tall man, with dark hair and a red shirt. He had his back to him. Jaeyoung pressed his ear to the door, and listened carefully. And it only took a few words for him to feel his heart dropping.
"This coward's phone keeps on ringing it says "Hyung <3" you think it's is brother? Should I tell him his precious little brother will be late tonight?"
Jaeyoung heard another person laughing.
"Yeah, well, we're not even sure he'll be back at all tonight."
The two voices laughed. And Jaeyoung felt like he couldn't breathe anymore.
