You walk into Es' room.

"Welcome ba-what is that?" Es asks, intrigued by the entity in your arms.

"A cat" you responde, yesterday you and Es had read and discussed a door into summer and as such you daunted to bring your cat with you this time.

"Truly?" She asks not quite believing you, which is fair but still irateded you abit. When had you ever lied to Es about something she might enjoy….okay fine but those times were still fun.

"No, it's a dog" you respond, maybe a little cruel seeing the disappointed look on her face at the sarcasm, she still has times where she cant tell, but you quickly correct her.

"Joking, it truly is a cat, now. We have three hours before I need to head back, let's have some fun." You speak as you grin, a hungry thing that grin, but you knew how to make no other for this occasion.

Es set down the book she had been reading, walking towards you she stopped around the length of her arms in front of you, close enough to pet the quitely purring cat in your arms but far enough away to move if the cat reacted badly to her.

'Fair enough' you thought. You had never brought an animal with you before so neither of you knew if she was any good with them.

Es reached out gently, slowly, to pet the cat in your arms, the cat sense the approaching limb turned its head towards Es, Es stilled as she locked eyes with the cat the the cat turned its head further to lick itself, Es turned her eyes onto you asking if it was okay to continue. You nod your head giving her a gentle smile as she resumes moving her hand towards the cat.

She gently rests her hand on top of the cat's head, they both jolt at the contact, the cat because of Es' hesitance and Es because of her nerves.

You slightly chuckle as you pet the cat to calm it down, Es slightly bristled at that, indignation, a wounded pride, and her great curiosity on the most well known feline species. Overpowering her fear of the unknown and fear of rejection.

This time her hand was steady as she reached out the other hand, formerly clutched tightly against her chest, now hung tightly at her side balled up in determination, you face slightly flushed, this, this was you favorite sight in all the worlds, Es steady, sure, and determined to try something.

It got your motor running in the most innocent and sinfully indecent ways. But still you held your arms steady as Es made another contact with the cat, who at this point had gone back to grooming themselves.

The cat jolted slightly again, but this time Es didnt respond in kind. Instead Es moved her hand from the cat's head and down its spine, the cat's back arching as Es moved her hand all the way down to the tip of the cat's tail.

Es smiled softly as the soft and warm fur of the cat felt nice in her hands. Soom enough the cat stirred and jumped from your arms the cast landed and then started twinning between your legs. Es locked perplexed.

You smile as you said. "She's twinning. It's a thing cats do to the humans they like, here squat down and stick your hand out, palm up. She'll come over to you and smell you."

Es did as you asked, squatting down and sticking your hand out for the cat to sniff. Almost immediately the cat went over to sniff Es' hand.

After a second of sniffing the cat bumped her head against Es' hand as she moved off. "That means she likes you, ya know. Now you can pet her, just don't force it and if she lays down on her side you can pet her, just not on the belly." You state as Es starts running her hand down the cat's spine again.

…..

The three of you spend the next three hours like that, Es and the cat playing together, completely fascinated by each other, while you stand by and watch the interaction unfold. A little commentary from you from time to time fills the pleasant silence.

After having checked your watch you snap your fingers, your cat jumps back into your arms tired and happy to sleep after the three hours of fun together. Es, herself has slightly tousled hair messed sleeves from the cats play, her usual braid is slightly out of place.

You throw a comment behind you as you walk out of Es' door and back to your world "your hairs a mess Es, but… I kinda like it."

The door clicks shut behind you before you can get a response, so you don't see Es' blushing face nor hear her mumble "maybe i should keep it like this" with a thoughtful face before dismissing the idea.
