They had been just children when they met. Cobalt had been on shore with his mother at the market so that she could mend the pirate crew's clothing and Evangeline had been escaping the palace guards to get out of studying. She had run right into Cobalt spilling his drink all over both of them. Cobalt had stared at her shocked as she started laughing uncontrollably and soon after he joined her in her infectious laughter. He had known then that she was the girl he wanted to be with the rest of his life. He would come to shore whenever he could after that and if Evangeline saw his ship from her window she would escape to see him. They planned to go away one day and get married.

Things did not go as planned. Colton became the captain of his father's ship and could not come to land as often as he did and Evangeline had to take up her duties as a princess. Evangeline would still look out her window every day to look for him; even though she knew he might never come back. Her eighteenth birthday had come and past and now her father was planning her wedding and she was worried by the time Cobalt came again that she would be gone.

Evangeline gasped as her twin sister tightened her corset. The blinding white gown that was hanging on the wall had been sewn a size too small to make her look slimmer. She was not sure she would be able to fit it. It would have fit her sister better.

"Sorry", Cassandra said tying the corset and wiped the tears running down Evangeline's face. Neither of the twins wanted this wedding to happen but their father was requiring it. It was for the good of the kingdom he had said. The kingdom must always come first.

"I'm the one who should be saying sorry", Evangeline whispered. "You're the one who loves him."

"As I have told you before" Cassandra sighed, "There is nothing we can do about it."

"We can trade places," Evangeline said. "We are identical twins. It could work. No one would know until it was too late and the marriage had already taken place."

"What color is your hair Eva?" Cassandra asked.

"Blonde," she said.

"And Mine?"

"Oh yeah," Evangeline sighed looking up at her sister, Cassandra. The two girls were "almost" identical. They were the same height, both had their parent's bright blue eyes, and they even had the same length and style of hair. There was obvious difference though. Cassandra had their father's jet-black hair and Evangeline had their mother's golden blonde hair. The difference in hair color made it impossible to be confused on which twin was Evangeline and which one was Cassandra.

"There must be a way to make this right," Evangeline signed.

"There is not," Cassandra said. "Now, let us get you in that dress."

The ship rocked violently as the storm hit. The crew was working at a panicked pace to tie down the sails and bale the water back over the edge of the ship. The ship rocked violently again and almost threw a crewmember over the edge of the boat. The Golden Lady was a proud ship that had been hand built by the captain's grandfather. She was christened, "The Golden Lady" after the Captain's grandmother who had golden blonde hair. Every Captain since had fallen in love with a woman of similar hair color.

Cobalt, the captain of the Golden Lady, was no different. The proud young captain had fallen hopelessly in love. The love of his life was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Cobalt was on a mission to finally go to her and take her away with him.

"Capt'n", Cobalt's first mate Milo said as he walked up to him. Milo was amazed as he watched the captain steer the ship. He steered it as if they were sailing on a sunny day and not in a violent storm that could capsize the ship.
