Chapter 34

Recap:

Hey random thought, remember when you were the one less lonely girl at Justin’s concert and you were totally freaking out?”

“Yeah, that’s kind of embarrassing now that I think about it. Why did you bring that up?”

“I don’t know. It just dawned on me how much things have changed in such a short period of time, you know? Just a little while ago I was still dating Taylor and you were a crazed fan on Justin’s, and now he’s my boyfriend. Isn’t that kind of funny? And now you don’t give a crap that Justin is so famous, you two are like friends!”

“Wow you are such a random child. But yes, that is weird.”

“Yeah I guess that was pretty random… but yeah… anyways shall we get going?”

Kaley looked at me like I was nuts, probably because I totally changed the subject from the spa and started ranting about change. I honestly had no idea where that thought even came from.

She grabbed her bag and we left the hotel room to go to the spa. Kaley was talking to me, but I was still deep in thought about how much things have changed. It’s funny how that happened, one day my life was all Taylor and Brooke, and the next they were out of my life and Kaley and Justin replaced them. It’s funny how fast things can change in such a short period of time isn’t it?

The day was going pretty good. Kaley and I went to the spa and got facials and manicures and the whole works, and then we went back to Kaley’s hotel room and watched Megamind. I know we have really immature taste in movies, but it was actually really funny!

After that there was only an hour until Justin’s concert. I got ready as quickly as possible. All I had to do was re-apply my makeup and get dressed in something more concert friendly. Then I tied my hair up and grabbed my new purse, and I was ready to go. Kaley on the other hand was a different story. She had to look completely perfect no matter where she went, so she took a full thirty minutes longer than me. The end result was gorgeous though.

We walked out the door with our VIP tickets that Justin gave us in our purses and took a taxi to Roger’s Arena, the stadium Justin was performing at. I was pretty excited, but a little nervous, because I knew Justin had to perform a song with Jasmine Villegas, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from feeling a stab of jealousy whenever I saw them together, especially since they were going to be singing a romantic song.

When we drove up, the first thing we saw was a small line-up of girls, all waiting with their VIP tickets. Everyone here had to come early for the VIP treatment. I forgot to mention that there was another reason I was nervous: the crazed fans that could possibly form a mob and attack me. Trust me, they may look innocent, but they are capable of murder if it involves Justin. I realized that a while ago.

I was supposed to find Kenny when I got here, so I tried to move as inconspicuously as possible while making my way over to where I was supposed to meet him. I almost managed to get by unnoticed, but knowing my luck, I got distracted with something I saw on a billboard or something and ended up walking right into a pole. Fantastic. I yelled out in pain and instantly all the girls’ faces turned toward me and one by one they started recognizing me. One girl nudged her friend, one of the few who wasn’t staring at me, and as soon as she saw me her eyes widened, and then soon turned into a death glare. I cringed. I needed to get out of here fast.

I started running toward the place where I was supposed to be meeting Kenny and I heard a couple of the girls yelling after me. I tried not to listen to the hateful things they were saying. Thankfully they didn’t want to lose their spot in line so no one ran after me.
