Chapter 4

Stas wasn't able to sleep properly last night. Whenever she tried to knock her eyes off, a lot of things are flooding inside her head and that hurt her to the core. She was advised by Jordan to go home and have a comfortable sleep back in their house, but she declined to know that Kean could be gone if she decided to go home.

The morning arrives, and Brian comes with Thamara to the hospital finding out the news about Kean's condition last night. They were so worried about what happened and Brian pulled Stas out of the room so they could talk one on one.

"Why didn't you call me?" he asked. "For fuck sake, Stas. Our son—"

Stas hastily pulled her arm away from his grip. "I'm sorry. I know you're busy and that you had to be with Marlyn at the time we almost lose our son."

Brian was agitated by what she said. His brows angrily crossed. "What do you mean, huh? You're blaming this on me now?"

Stas laughed and Brian was appalled by her reaction.

"What the fuck, Stacia? What's going on you?"

She smirked and couldn't hide the smirk away from her face. She crossed her arms. "Let me tell you one thing, Brian. Kean decided to rebel and live far away from me because you want a divorce. You want it because you are the problem in this relationship. You couldn't just satisfy yourself and the cost of it was losing Kean. You're the reason why we're here. Don't blame. Blame yourself. If it's not what you did, everything that happened won't even happen—"

But she wasn't able to complete her sentence when Brian slapped her face. She almost loses her balance and was only able to hold her cheek. She could feel the numbness. No one was around. No one would be a witness to his violence.

She just looked at him trying not to pour her tears out.

"This is why I agreed to that fucking divorce," she hissed. "From now, he's responsible. Don't ever come at me. Don't look for me."

Stacia quickly walked away from him.

"Stas!" he called, but she didn't look back.

She ran back inside the room and quickly grabbed her stuff. Thamara and Jordan were confused about her sudden actions.

"Mom? What's going on? Aalis ka?" Thamara asked.

She didn't answer her but looked at Jordan.

"Jordan, we're leaving," she said.

"Oh, okay," he said and stood up on his feet.

He just grabbed his hand and they went out of the room. Nakasalubong pa nila si Brian nang makalabas. Thamara was confused and trying to understand what was happening while Jordan was trying to go with the flow, but upon scanning Stacia's face he noticed something there.

"Would you please take me somewhere else?" Stas asked.

Jordan slowly nodded. "Yeah, sure. Not a problem."

They both went to his car and as soon as they settled in, Jordan stare at Stas, but she kept looking away as if she was trying to avoid something.

"Can we please go now?" she requested.

"Your face," Jordan muttered and reached for her face and slowly put her face to him. "What happened? What was going on there earlier with you and Brian, Stacia?"

She shook her head, obviously trying to avoid the discussion.

"Did he hurt you?" he questioned, but she barely responded. "Shit!" he hissed, almost hitting the wheel.
