"Have any of you told the girls yet?" Luke asked with a wince as soon as he saw Calums expression fall. Mike rolled his eyes and leaned forward to smack Luke's head. Luke ducks down in an attempt to swerve the oncoming attack but gets hit in his shoulder instead.
"What the hell was that for?" Luke grumbled whilst rubbing his shoulder. Michael narrows his eyes at him and opens his mouth to respond.
"I told Nia." Ashton interrupted, taking a sip from his coffee. The other three boys' gaze immediately swiveled towards him. The surprise was apparent on their faces.
"She's my fiancé. We communicate, dickheads." Ashton said after taking their expressions in. The other boys shared a loaded look, obviously remembering the couple's alteration.
"Wait." Luke said, turning around to face Mike. "You haven't told Laur?" He asked incredulously. Mike immediately turned red, as if he was caught doing something he wasn't allowed to. Cal took in his guilty expression, growing suspicious.
"What's that face for Mike?" He asked, staring his friend down. Mike exchanged a nervous glance with Luke and Ashton. Calum could feel that he was missing something. Had the boys gone behind his back? He couldn't imagine them doing so, he trusted them. But he couldn't deny that they were acting suspicious.
"Well, you know how we don't have an opening act yet?" Luke carefully said. Calums expression remained confused but he nodded nonetheless.
"Well, we were thinking. Maybe, we could have the girls open for us." He said carefully, trying not to upset Calum. His face immediately pales.
"No."
"Cal, be rational." Ashton said.
"No. I will not voluntarily be hanging around her for weeks on end. You can't expect me to." He replies vehemently. The other boys stayed silent, just looking at him.
"Cal-" Luke started.
"No. I'm not even willing to fucking consider it. Ask Laur for all I care but I'm not gonna spend weeks with her on a fucking tiny ass bus." Cal spat.
"She has a name, you know." Luke grumbled, getting fed up with Calum thinking that he is the only one affected by the situation.
"Get off my dick, Luke." Cal shot back.
"Get off your high horse." Ashton interfered.
"My high horse-"
"Yes, Cal. You're not the only one hurting here. You know this would be an amazing opportunity for Shay. You taking that away is selfish and you know it." Ashton replied calmly, holding his gaze. Cal simply scoffed and turned around and left the room. The three boys were left there in silence.
"Well. That went as well as expected." Luke mumbled, letting himself fall back into the cushions of his chair. Mike bit his lip, seemingly contemplating if he was going to say what was on his mind.
"Calum has a point, you know." He eventually said.
Ashtons brows shot up. He figured that if anyone would be on his side with this situation it would be Michael. Seeing as it was his best friend they were talking about.
"Don't look at me like that, Ash. I get him not wanting to be stuck with her around for weeks on end." He grumbled.
"Why are you acting like she's some kind of villain?" Luke questioned. Mike seemed particularly hostile, as if he knew something the other two didn't.
Michael winced slightly. "Look, I don't want to attack her or drag her through the mud. She's my best friend." He started to say, his gaze switching between his two bandmates in front of him.
