'Take a deep breath. Start at the beginning. Tell them how we first met. Tell them that ever since, we shared our dreams. Even Joe's weirdest ones. No, keep that as our secret. Tell them that this is— that this has to be— one of the happiest days of my life.'

"Everybody! Please, for those I haven't had the chance to say hi to properly, I'm Y/N, and this has got to be one of the happiest days of my life."

10 Years Ago Y/N's 18th Birthday.

Y/N and Joe were young and excited to be celebrating Y/N's 18th birthday when she could finally drink legally and go out partying and clubbing— drinking till her heart's content— or until her stomach had told her she had had enough and was throwing up the alcohol that she just couldn't keep down.

The best friends were dancing erratically to some song that was playing extremely loudly over the club speakers, the pair were far too drunk to care what either of them looked like but that didn't matter. Y/N screamed with excitement as she was enjoying herself far too much to care about the consequences of a hangover in the morning, Joe and Y/N scurried to the front of the bar where they threw so many shots down their throat that it was almost considered lethal the amount they had drank that specific night.

Y/N was sat on a bar stool laughing with Joe, their heads touching as they continued to giggle with one another, soon enough the laughter started to die down but their heads were still resting against each other's, and that was it— the pair kissed, the two of them had been best friends since the age of 3 and finally a kiss was shared— it could've been the making of the pair of them had it not been that when the two leaned in for a second kiss that Y/N actually slipped off the bar stool and landed face first on the dance floor smacking her head in the process,

When Y/N woke up the morning after she felt rough, words couldn't even describe how bad she was feeling right now her head was pounding and her stomach was so tender. She heard the front door open from the slumber of her bed and along came some muffled conversation from downstairs, she wrapped her duvet around her body and opened her bedroom and stood at the top of the stairs

"Why is everybody shouting?" Y/N grumbled but in fact no one was shouting Y/N was just extremely hungover. She saw her mother roll her eyes at her and Joe make his way up the stairs.
"I'm so embarrassed about last night." Y/N huffed as she flopped onto her bed wrapped up in her duvet

"No, no, you don't have to be." Joe reassured his best friend

"Ugh I behaved so badly!"

"Yeah, but bad can be good too."

"Good? It was awful. Oh I feel sick even thinking about it." Y/N sighed as she looked at her best friend.

"About what part?" Joe asked Y/N

"All of it. It never happened. Joe, okay? You can't tell anyone!" Y/N exclaimed

"Right." Joe said in slight disappointment just as Y/N's brothers came bursting into her bedroom shouting loudly.
