Baseball tryouts

I wake up to another day.
It's 6:56am. Wow Im late.
I get ready and head to school.

School continues on for the day.
Simple boring school.
First 2 lessons was Math and Art then my final 2 lessons were Drama and Woodcutting.

I go to find Robin and Finn after the bell rings.

Finn is holding a key.
"What's that for?" I ask him.

He looks at me " you seriously think your gonna try out for the team without the right equipment?"

Him and Robin take me to this room with a bunch of sports supplies.

"What size feet are you Lisa?" Finn ask.
"I'm size 5" I look at him.
He passes me some baseball shoes.
I packed some trousers for me to change into.
I get changed and go and meet Finn and Robin at the field.

Robin is sitting in the stands, and he waves at me.

Finn calls me over.
I walk up to him, and I think that's his coach he's talking to.
"Hey Lisa this is coach Derl" he says.
Coach Derl shakes my hands and greets me.

"Okay, I've never had a girl on a team before, but let's see what you got" coach hands me a bat.

Finn gets ready to throw the ball at me.
He throws it but I miss.
"Strike 1 Lisa" coach says.
I get ready to bat again but Finns team walks into practice.

They all look at me and laugh.
They probably think how stupid it is that a girl is playing baseball.
I'll prove them wrong.

"Let's go Lisa come on!" Robin shouts from the stands.

Finn throws the ball and I hit it across the fence.
I'm shocked.
I begin to run and I go around all bases and there it is.
Home run.
That feeling is amazing.

The coach looks at me in disbelief.

Coach Derl calls everybody into a huddle, including me.
"Okay guys, we're making history today. Introducing Lisa the first girl on our team!"

Most people are clapping for me, except this one boy.
He looks at me sly.
"Coach" he says, "that's Vance hoppers cousin. She's nothing but trouble, plus we don't need no girl on our team".
Excuse me?
I look at him.
"That's enough Jamie" coach shouts.
Oh Jamie. That's his name.
Coach walks away to get me uniform.

"You being sexist Jamie?" I say.

"No, you're just a stupid girl who thinks she can walk her way into the team just because she got lucky, and everyone here is only happy for you because your Vances cousin and there all shit scared of him, but you? I'm not scared of you"
he blabs.

I'm furious. Who does this guy think he is?
My fist raises but Finn sees it and puts it down.

"Oh getting angry now are you? Vance is not here to defend your battles Lisa" Jamie says.

Oh no. I ain't letting him get away with this.

I punch Jamie right in the face. He looks at his palm and it's covered in blood.
He goes to swing me and hits me in the jaw but i throw in one last punch.

I look down at him. The whole team is watching me.
"Cant beat up a girl Jamie?" I say.
I glance at him one more time and walk away.
Robin runs down the stands stairs and runs to me.

"Omg lisa are you alright?" He asks
"I'm fine, the jerk got what he deserved" i say.
"Let's get you to the school nurse" Finn says.

Robin raps his arm around me and takes me to see a nurse.
