ugh, fuck...
sienna threw her hand over her shoulder, letting out an exhausted groan as she hit her phone's screen, turning off the alarm blaring in her ears. blinded by the sunlight, she rolled over to slide her feet into her slippers, only to meet the rough carpet instead. frantically, she looked down to see them pushed under the bed.
she let out a soft sigh, relieved her cat powder hadn't gotten ahold of them as she pulled them out and on, rubbing her eyes and grabbing her phone to head to the bathroom and start her morning.
she had only lived in the apartment for a couple weeks and still found herself getting lost in it; the space was overwhelming, but it was an amazing place to have. space for her and her gray tabby, powder, to relax and study, and live their lives as peacefully as possible.
she turned on the water, only to reach into it and feel that it was ice cold. ugh, winter. she growled softly as she let it run, stripping of her sleepwear, which consisted of a pair of gym shorts and a tank top. she could not help but get a peek of herself in the mirror and decided to do an analyzation of her body.
she did a slight turn, looking at her side profile for a second. she didn't have the most petite body, and her stomach wasn't as skinny as most would want, but she was a nice looking woman. she ran a hand over her shoulder, her pale skin prickling up at the warmth of her hands against her cool body.
i need to shave, goddamn, she thought, instantly when she looked down at her core; it was becoming unruly and somewhat messy. normally in the summer, she kept her self-care at an all time high, but during the winter, she gave herself a few breaks.
a few too many this time, though, as she got into the now hot shower and began her work, shaving carefully around the sensitive areas of her core and then moving to her legs. she knew she would probably regret this later, seeing as it was already cold outside and she would be wearing leggings, but it didn't bother her as much as she thought.
a bit later, she was making her way through the kitchen, grabbing a few things here and there to make an iced coffee, as well as a bagel before she headed to class. her cat, powder, was prancing behind her, rubbing against her ankles anytime she stood still enough, waiting for her to fill his food bowl for the morning.
"alright, alright, one second baby," she said with a tired smile, pulling his food out of the cabinet and walking over to his bowl under the counter. "now stop rubbing on me; you're getting hair all over my pants."
he let out a small meow of thank you and began munching on his food happily as sienna moved to grab her keys, pulling her blonde and red hair back into a high ponytail. "behave powder!" she shouted back through the door as she pulled it shut, sprinting down the stairs to her car. she had her coffee and bagel in one hand, keys in the other as she got in, started the car, and pulled out of the lot to head to her university not ten minutes away.
leaping out of her car in the parking lot, she raced to the doors of the building, desperately trying to make it to the library for some study time before her afternoon exams, but only for the doors to be...locked?
she shook her head, completely puzzled as she turned away from it back to her vehicle, running her hands through her hair. the library is normally always open! what happened..?
she stepped into her car and laid her head on the steering wheel, letting out a sigh of frustration as she started it again, now instead heading to a local starbucks nearby. she needed somewhere to study in peace, and even if it meant having to listen to music the whole time, she would. she pulled into the parking lot and stepped inside to the familiar smell of coffee and pastries.
"sienna, hey!" she looks up the sound of her name, and smiled at kiara, one of the workers in the cafe and a friend at the university she went to. she gave her a small wave as her friend started working on sienna's regular: a peppermint mocha, two shots of espresso, extra mocha drizzle. especially during wintertime.
sitting down at a small table in the corner, she sat down her laptop bag and pulled out her laptop and journals, and she was surprised when kiara called her name. she strode over and leaned on the counter. "library closed today."
"what?" kiara looked just as shocked as sienna felt as she nodded her head. "but ms. green never closes the library!" sienna threw up her hands. "that's what i'm saying! but it is today and i don't know why."
kiara ran her hands through her purple and blue pixie, letting out a sigh. "i'm sure she just hasn't gotten back from holidays yet, don't worry too much, si." she nodded, and thanked her for the coffee and the comforting words, and went back to her laptop.
booting it up, she cracked her knuckles, and put in her earbuds. study time, she thought to herself and she took a breath in before sitting down and getting right to work.
~~~
hours after hours passed, and soon enough, it was afternoon, and the sun was slowly lowering in the sky. kiara shut her laptop, satisfied with her work and stood up. there were still a few people coming into the shop, especially since a lot were just getting off of work or out of class, but kiara paid no mind to anyone...
except a gorgeous blonde woman sitting in the back corner with a brunette teacher, who happened to be mr. bortha, her composition teacher. she struggled to tear her gaze from the woman, who's horn-rimmed gaze met hers in a split second, finally knocking her back into the real world as her piercing eyes held her gaze for what felt like eternity.
and then kiara tripped over a chair, knocking her books and papers all over the floor. her face flushed in embarrassment as she scrambled to pull herself, and her things, together. sienna, who had been just about to join kiara for a night out, leapt to help her too. "girl, you gotta be careful," she sighed, shaking her head. "you're so clumsy sometimes, maybe we should call you 'clumsy kee'."
"you call me that and i'll have your head, si," she said through gritted teeth, still as red as a cherry as she stuffed her papers in her laptop bag, her gaze lifting to the woman again. she caught her gaze once more, but it was a look of concern. she shook her head, standing again and shuffling out the door, sienna giggling behind her.
"what's so funny?" kiara couldn't help but snap at her friend, and it only made sienna laugh harder. "you were staring at bortha's new friend, weren't you? and don't lie, i know your type in women better than you do."
she let out a loud sigh, shaking her head. "i'm sorry, she just caught my eye, and i wasn't paying attention." she got into her car, sienna hopping in the passenger and dropping her purse in the floorboard. "well be careful next time, and maybe don't let goddesses like demeter there distract you."
kiara gave her a quick and playful glare. "if anything, she's aphrodite, si, not demeter." this sparked up a debate between them, but the two girls took off to their happy place: spencer's and hot topic in the mall.
