It was a day when I had to visit my friend Christina at her new workplace. She got the job in the library, one of the biggest libraries in the city. On my way, I was reading a book that I bought an hour ago. It was the Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman.
I came to the library and met Christina. She was busy but I showed her my new book."Look! I got this new book," I said.
"Oh, wow! What is it?" she asked.
"It's the Ocean at the End of the Lane," I said proudly.
"Sounds good, I've never read it, though," she said. "Listen, you can leave your bag and stuff here and see the library".
"Okay," I said. "Sounds good".
She smiled and went away to do her work. I left all my stuff except the book. I was too in love with it.
I went to the biggest and the main room of the library. It was the sight for sore eyes. There were enormous number of books on the huge bookshelves. I was there about thirty minutes looking at the books and went up to the nineth floor to my friend. In the half way I realized that the Ocean at the End of the Lane was not on my hands anymore. I lost it. I forgot it somewhere in that giant room.
"Panic! Panic!" I heard those kind of signals in my head. I ran to the main room and started looking for my book. I felt like I was going to stuck there forever. I checked every corner, every shelf but couldn't find my treasure. I was upset and decided to go to Christina. She suggested me to look in the Lost and Found Books Room."It is on the sixth and a half floor," she said and went away. I was confused. But Christina had already gone and I couldn't ask no more things. I went to the sixth floor and saw a little group of people.
"Hey!" I said to the nearest girl. "Where are you all going?"
"Oh, hi. We are looking for the Lost and Found Books Room. And some guy is helping us," the girl said.
"Great! I'm going with you, too," I smiled.
"I'm Billie," the girl said smiling.
"Nice to meet you, Billie. I'm Emma".
There was a little room on the sixth floor. We passed it and went to the back of it. The guy who was helping us to find the room stopped.
"Now up the stairs with red carpet and there's the room. Be careful. You can forget your memories in there," he said.
"Thank you!" everybody said and he was gone.
"What did he say about memories?" I turned to Billie.
"I don't know. We should repeat our names to remember everything. It may help to save our memories. I am Billie. You are Emma," she said to me.
I nodded. I was really confused but also scared. So, I repeated. "I am Emma. You are Billie. I am Emma. You are Billie..."
As soon as we entered the room, I stopped mumbling our names. Billie went to the left of the room and I turned to the right. I started searching for my book in this unusual room. It did not even look like a library room; it looked like a bookstore. Besides countless types of books, there were different bookmarks, cards, envelopes, stumps and stuff. They were not on their separate shelves. They were in random places. I could find them between books or just over them. It looked chaotic and strange, but also interesting and exciting.
I noticed that people were standing near one table. There was a sign on the table: "Today found". Everybody who came with me found their lost things there, but I could not."Can I help you?" the voice behind me said.
I turned around and saw a guy with blue suit. All the library staff wore this uniform."Yes, thanks," I said. "I can't find my book. It's a greenish book by Neil Gaiman. The Ocean at the End of the Lane".
"Got it. It has to be among today found," he said and smiled.
"No, I have already checked..." I started.
"Found it!" the librarian showed me my book.
"Oh! Thank you. How didn't I..." I couldn't continue my speech again as he started talking.
"Take your book, dearie, and go to my desk, okey-dokey?"
"Okay," I said uncertainly.
I did as he told me, but there was a queue at the librarian's desk. When I was second in line, I saw a boy who was paying for his found book. I didn't know that we had to pay for this service and realized that I left my bag at Christina's room.
"Um, excuse me," I said to the boy in front of me. "Can I borrow some money from you? I left my wallet on the nineth floor where my friend works. I'll really give all your money back".
"Sure," the kind boy said. "I like to help people".
I was absolutely glad and gave my book to librarian.
"Here it is. That's my book. Thank you for help. How much do I have to pay?" I asked.
"Let me see... It will be 10 dollars, dearie," the librarian said and smiled as always.
"What?" I said surprisingly. "No way. It's too much. I'm sorry but I bought this book for 9 dollars. It would be easier to buy the new one".
"Are you going to take a book or?.." the librarian said with the same smile.
"No, thanks," I said calmly but was really angry inside.

Suddenly I came up to Christina's room. I could not remember how I ended up here. Probably, that room really steals memories... My book was still not with me. I asked Christina to help me again."Oh, poor... Let's go. I know who can help you,"she said and we went to the room with lots of computers. The lady with glasses was sitting in front of one of them.
"Hello," Christina said. "My friend needs help. I'm sure you're the best at it".
"Oh, Christina, hi," the lady with glasses said. "What is the problem?"
"I lost my book," I said to the lady (it seemed to me that I was saying this phrase for the hundredth time that day). "It is the Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman".
"Don't worry. I'll find it in the library database quickly," the lady said.
I didn't get how it worked. It was MY book. It cannot be in the library database.
"Found it," said the lady. "But there are three books in the library. Could you find your own among them?"
"I could, thanks a lot," I said smiling.
After five minute the lady brought me three books. I easily found mine. There was a white sticker with the bookstore sign in the back. I was delighted to get my book back.
I opened my eyes. The sun's rays were reflected on the white ceiling. I turned my head to the right and looked out the window. It was morning. And it was all a dream. The book was lying on the table, the white sticker glistened in the sun.
