Double-Dipping- Nathan Johnson

Dorton Train Station, 1883

I read the paper. They got the incident all wrong. The memories flood back. The screams of mother and father. My brother and sister coughing. The estate crashed down. I'm never taking a midnight garden walk ever again. I feel a tear fall. Quickly, I wiped it away, continuing to read.

Everything they wrote about the fire was wrong. Especially the part of no survivors. MY family died that cold December night, but I didn't. I know that the fire wasn't accidental. However to prove this, I am no longer Mary Anna Goldman.
