Our Shallow Past

The Check Point.

There are 3 levels of sadness in life

1. Anger:- you are so sad that you can't control it and it comes out as anger

2. Shedding of tears:-another level where you show your sadness through tears

And 3. The extreme sorrow:-soo sad that your tears are also not pouring down through eyes, you become emotionless...even heart less a times...even so you tend to end your life...

She was at the third level of sadness, tear less, emotion less. She stood on the edge of the bridge, closed her eyes and took a quick flashback of her past. Just when she was going to jump a voice came from behind. assuming that it must be some one who was trying to stop she jumped off in an instant. Following her, that guy also jumped and out of blue an image flashed in front of her eyes. Before she could process her thoughts, she had already reached the waters. With the force she dropped from the bridge made her so deep inside . So deep that she hit her head on the rocks that were on the bed of the river. And last all she could see was her red blood mixing with blue water.

X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X

She slowly opened her eyes with the dizzy image in front. She tried to get up but was not able to. So she tilted head slightly to her side. Ventilator was beeping and saline bottle was hanging to the stand, from which the solution was going in her body. Slowly she got the idea that she was in a hospital. But why? She couldn't remember a single thing except the fact she jumped off from the bridge but,why?

She turned her head around scanning the room, when suddenly she got a glance of a guy she was familiar of. It was the same guy that jumped with her. Wait a minute but why did he jumped with her? All those questions were hovering in her head, when suddenly a sharp pain snapped in and she shouted. The guy got up and ran out from the room. After a minute or so, the doctor barged in. He gave her a injection and it made the pain reduce slowly....and slowly made her to fall asleep.....

After some good sleep she slowly opened her eyes to see doctor talking to that guy, they both got a glance of her and immediately came near her. "Miss, are you ok?" Doctor asked with calm and the way doctors usually speak. She nodded . "So what is your name?" He asked further. "Ah my name is....my....my...my name.." she was out of words. "I.... don't know" she said . "Ok.. so do you remember something from before?" Doctor asked. "Ah... I.." She then suddenly burst in to tears. "It's ok.. don't worry..nurse please take care of her". He said and looked at the guy with a serious look.

They both were sitting in Doctors office." I am sorry to say mister Arjun, but she have unfortunately lost her memory." Arjun looked unaffected with his words . He nodded and asked " When can she be discharged?"
"After two days you can take her..but what made her jump of the bridge.. I mean she is your wife you should know something about it." Doctor asked.

Arjun was hesitant for a moment. He then suddenly started to tear up. "She was so stressed because of her... brother... he always comes to her asking money for drugs and gambling he also tried to kill her once... she was like his mother when their parents died. She loves him more than anybody. And this trauma just made her do this." He explained with tears in his eyes. Doctor consoled him and gave him her reports and sent him to her. Just when he came out he wiped his crocodile tears and went in his normal state is just a matter of seconds. "Good job Arjun. Now another work is left" he said to himself and went .

She was sitting on her bedding trying hard remembering but failed each time. Just then Arjun came in . He looked at her with cold eyes. "you will be discharged in 2 days." He said and went near the window and took out his cigarette and started smoking. "Who are you? And why are you helping me?" She asked. "Do you know me?" She added . He looked at her and shook his head to no. "So? Why did you jumped with me?" She asked . He took out the cigarette from his mouth and gave an annoyed look . "Just Because I wanted to measure the depth of the bridge ." He said being sarcastic. This annoyed her a bit but she had to keep her patience to know the truth. "Please tell me." She pleaded. He threw his cigarette out and came near her and closer... more closer to her. Just a inch away from her. "What do you think?" He asked with a flirty tone. This made her a little hesitant.

Suddenly his expression changed." I was just Kidding " he said and went back to the window and took his cigarette. Her patience was at the peak to get broken. She shrugged it off and asked " So after the discharge where shall we go?" He looked at her with expressionless eyes and replied.

"Not 'WE' I will go to my house and you will go to yours."

"But I don't know where I leave" she said.

"I don't care go where ever you want." He said with a harsh tone.

"Then why did you saved me ?" She asked. He turned his head to look out ignoring her question.

10 hours before...

It was afternoon time. Less traffic, and more heat on the road. But suddenly this silence broke with the sound of cars roaring on the road. And then the sound of police sirens.

"Arjun! Drive fast, they are just behind us." The guy sitting beside Arjun said. He smirked and accelerated the car at the top most speed. But suddenly their car stopped. They looked at each other and they got of the car and started running as fast as could they had almost reached to the bridge. Just then they got a call..

" Arjun, I cannot lose a gem like you, please jump of from the bridge you will be safe don't worry" The voice commanded him.He nodded and ran towards the bridge to jump off when suddenly he saw a girl. And just then an image flashed in front of his eyes. His face now showed fear . "No!!" He shouted . But she jumped off without a single thought. He ran towards her and jumped with her.
