Love.

What is it?

What causes it?

Why does it happen?

Honestly? Who knows. Whether you fall in love or don't, whether you can feel love or can't, it's still there.

It could be your love for your family, the love you've created for your friends, a love for a show or a game, or just a general sense of love. You know what these loves are. They can't creep up on you as easily because you go for them.

Now, a love between two souls who don't think they can feel it? A love between two souls that are so sad and just so lonely that they couldn't help but seek each other out?

Now that's love.

Now of course, it isn't that easy!

But you know what caused this love?

Time.

The moon stared into the distance as she looked down on the people below and sighed in boredom.

Ahhh, humans. What funny creatures. Always seeking something and yet never satisfied with anything. How greedy.

Moos nighed again, this time in frustration when she couldn't find anything interesting from the people who she had been told to look after.

"Sure, throw me in here with no fun or nothing. How great." She muttered to herself but suddenly sat up straighter, her eyes glowing. Literally glowing.

"How interesting." In front of her popped up two young men. One 16 and the other 18  both of them seemingly lacking a bright soul.

"Oooh, I haven't had something like this in a while." She clapped her hands excitedly as she studied the two and she couldn't feel but feel a tad bit melancholy looking at their smiles.

Their masks looked so well put up, a human wouldn't question twice. That happy glitter in their eyes dimmed down so much but unnoticeable by those who couldn't be bothered to see what was on the inside. Truly, how infuriating. She oh so hated having to deal with masked souls, it made her job all the more difficult.

"Well I haven't seen such fake smiles in a while. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear we have work to do."

Moon felt herself smile. Ahhh, it had been a while since she had lost souls.

That night, the moon shined a little brighter.

Ace sighed as he tossed and turned in his bed for the nth time before eventually giving up on going to sleep and tossed his covers of him.

He had tried everything to sleep! He had watched something incredibly boring, he had counted sheep, he had walked around his room! His body was exhausted but for some reason his mind seemed to be running.

He tried to ignore the little voice that pointed out he could always call his brother if he truly felt this troubled and made his way to his room's door.

'I might as well grab something to eat. Plus, I barely ever ate at Dinner so what could anybody say?' He argued with the voice that said that he might get caught.

As long as he didn't eat any pre-made food everything should be fine! He'll just make something quick downstairs.

With a goal in mind, Ace set on his way to his dorm kitchen, making sure to watch out for his steps so as to not alert anyone that he was up.

Silently, he made his way to the kitchen and let out a sigh of relief that nobody had heard him.

After the disaster that had been the housewardens Overblot everyone was still walking on eggshells so Ace was comforted with the knowledge that he would fully be alone at night.
