"Okay Caera be safe" Scythe Seris said in a stern voice as she turned away and left. After her small figured disappeared from the portal gate the whole floor came back to life.

The people who were kneeling down, kowtowing or shaking in fear at the presence of a Scythe, all moved once my mentor left. That was her power. That was what a Scythe means.

I want to be stronger too. Strong like her.

That is why I'm here, I told myself before letting out a short breath and turning my attention to the shimmering gate in front of me.

"Welcome to the Relictombs, Lady Caera of Highblood Denoir."

The portal attendant bowed to me, despite him being almost thrice my age. That was the power of the Denoir's, my blood—my adopted—blood, I corrected myself.

Shaking my head inwardly, while giving the portal attendant a curt nod, worthy of a highblood such as myself, I walked towards the Relictombs portal.

Today was the day I turned 12. But more importantly, today was the day I will be going into the Relictombs.

Ignoring all the people, ascenders, travellers, merchants and portal keepers who were all bowing to me, I focused on the elusive gate in front of me. Nervousness, excitement, expectations and thrill—bloomed inside me, as soon as my body touched the shimmering light.

One second I was in a crowded room of people, the next...I was in the middle of a large river valley. Two mountains, each stood on the sides, flanking the valley, making it harder to move in all directions, thus restricting the access to only forward.

Only towards the valley. Towards where the mud monsters...the golems are at.

"Grade A zone. As I thought... Tch."

Clamping down my annoyance at being this unlucky, I moved forward. My destination, the other side of the valley where the exit portal should be.

It would take me 7 days to get there. And through the path I traverse, there will be hundreds, if not thousands of golems waiting to crush and rampant everything that moves or dare enters their territory.

While I was feeling frustrated for getting a Grade A zone, it was natural, I told myself.

"All right let's do this, Caera." Motivating myself, I started to sprint towards the other end. The more faster I am, the more sooner I will be able to get out of this helllhole.

This time I may even get another Regalia, I told myself. Brother would be so proud.

That thought increased my speed as I went past the mud-ridden crevices and barren wasteland of the valley. Soon, my steps faltered and came to a stop when my eyes landed on the large moving figures.

Lump of clay brown rose from the barren mud valley, as their form got bigger and bigger. Soon, they were the size of a two storey house.

Sucking in a deep breath, I calmed my nerves. My red coloured sword appeared on my right hand, drawn out from my dimension ring on my pinky finger, I swiped it around for a quick warm-up.

*wizz*

The sounds made by my blade caught the attention of the mud golems as they finally started to move.

Ground trembled underneath my feet as more than a dozen golems approached my location.

Waiting no more, I moved. The sword in my hand started to vibrate and glow, as I activated my oldest and most adaptable Emblem I had.
